I have Been shooting the easton axis traditional only arrows in 500 spine. With 175 gr head. After bare shafting them they ended up too short. My VPA broadheads are hitting my riser.. I went over to a fellow trad ganger and shot some of his easton axis 400's. They where shooting Nock right. So now Im not sure if I should order a test pack in the traditional easton axis or just change to a different shaft all together. Any advice would be appreciated.

What draw weight and draw length you shooting?
Im shooting a tall tines 53@28. My draw length is 27in.
You're kind of in-between If 175 grains is your total point/adaptor/insert weight, the .500s should work. If you haven't already, could build out the side plate just a little. Will need to add quite a bit of weight if you go to the .400s, but they can be made to work as well.
Can be other things in your set up, brace height, nock tightness, your form, etc. that can also skew the results. Make sure you account for/control those before changing shafts. Good luck.
From what you said, your 500 spine arrows must be cut pretty close to 27". Starting with the full length of a 400 spine arrow and your same tip setup, you should be able to find a length that tunes just fine.
People may disagree with me on this, but I find arrows cut shorter than 29" to be a little finicky. If you find that an arrow is well tuned cut to 29-30", you may find it somewhat more forgiving than a shorter arrow and like the overall flight characteristics better anyway.
Yep, I was gonna suggest an AD shaft. I have a dozen Lites and a dozen Trads, and they all fly well out of a variety of bows by simply changing field point weight.
