I have a Ben Pearson Spoiler. It's pretty dang ugly. But I guess, like beauty, it's in the eye of the beholder. I don't be holdn' this one much. But I do shoot it on occasion.

Anyone else have to a not-so-purty bow that they just have to hang onto?
Come on guys, let's see'um...
Yessir, that is one ugly bow right there!
Bisch
That might be one ugly bow, but She has some CURVES! (cat whistle)
"Life's To Short To Shoot An Ugly Bow"
Right Bill and Tracy :biglaugh:
Hmmm...looks like zebrawood to me...and I beam construction...nothing ugly about that bow to my eyes...and besides, when was the last time you took a real close look at a bow while your were drawing and loosing an arrow...I do not have any picture capability but I have a bow that others have judged to be ugly...I glued a bunch of deer hide on it rather haphazardly one day when I had nothing better to do...but that bow is a swan in ugly duckling garb because underneath is a 1961 Kodiak Special
DDave
That's the point. I own'em to shoot'em. I just have too many,=...I mean, not enough time ;)
I got this one off fleabay for steal. It ain't going anywhere. It'll be mine for a looooong time.
No one else with a beat up favorite or just and old shooter that's not a real looker anymore?
Nope, all my bows are perty (except for a few very plain, unsexy bows)!!!
Eeeeeeewww! Bud, that sure is ugly to look at. But if it shoots well.......
I think there may be some closeted ugly bow owners out there....come on guys....it's OK to admit it.
The Spoiler shoots well. The I beam two-tone is the ugly for me. And somewhat the riser shape. But bows of that era took on some strange lines for sure.
Ain't nothing ugly about that bow Bud. Be glad to buff it up for you.
None of your bows would fit this category Mike. I'm guessing folks don't want to make any bowyers mad. I still believe there are some out there.... :) I'll bet Mr. Pearson would think this'un is purty. I have a few bows that aren't lookers, but are definitely shooters. This one takes the award though.
I don't own any but sure have seen some, not about to post a pic of someone else's pride and joy.
ok I apologize to the bowyers and owners, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If they are shooters I would be glad to give them a try.

Hey Jason, those bottom two are a good start to an ugly collection ;-)
look at the limb fit of the first
Somebody's gonna get in trouble with this one! Kind of like an "ugly girlfriend" thread.
Bit I want to see some more pics!
:knothead:
I got one to beat all of yours. I keep a PVC bow that easily handles a 36" draw but looks like trash. Think my wife's gonna take it from me, she already got me to make her some thumb rings for it.
I'll find a pic and post it-I think it'll win your ugly bow award.
Here it is, it shoots fine, but wow it's ugly.

Hey Ed, this is ugly bows...not fugly bows ;) (Now you know I'm kidding...a little)
If it shoots good, no biggie and thanks for posting! I'm gonna try one of those one day.

OK, I'll play. This is an old lemonwood(?) self bow I picked up a few years ago. It exploded on me the first time I shot it, gave away at the glue lines. Not much finish left on the old girl anyway, so I reglued it, clamped it overnight, and wrapped it with leather lace. It shoots now, but it makes me a little nervous, and I ain't scared o' nuthin'.
Your's is going to be a hard one to beat Bud.
What do I win?
you win a suprise bow make over.
If I have to act like those nuts on TV, I'll pass, thanks.
I thought mine was far uglier. I think it's bias against plastic.
(Above statements should be read as tongue firmly in cheek.)
Here is a bow that one of my best friends called an "ugly bow", as well as the guy i built it for....
So i thought i better post it....

Seriously? I'll have to post pics of all my bows then
What's ugly about that? I like the all one wood approach.
I'm more attracted to lines than embellishment. Like a Loveless knife with micarta handles. Nothing fancy but beautiful by design. Let's not confuse plain with ugly.
NOT ugly.... :nono:

I don't think that's bad at all :dunno:
Sorry guys. Here's my "go to" bow
(http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f301/jillanmike/bows/IMG_1813.jpg) (http://s50.photobucket.com/user/jillanmike/media/bows/IMG_1813.jpg.html)
Mike,
If I dropped that bow while 3D shooting some guys I know would scream and run! That looks like a snake!!
Sorry Kirk, your's is a non-contender. :readit:
My bow is made from an old hickory wheel barrow handle, the lams and riser both, I sanded it smooth to 80 grit and then painted it with black truck bed liner from dupli color and then painted some break-up stripes with gray primer. It's even uglier up close. 60" long, 49# @ 28".
Then you better post an up close if you want to beat me...

Yes please.
It would break my camera
My plain green Baraga has been called "ugly", but I love it. No pretty woods for me!!
