I have these two generic target bows, one #30 and one #40. I'd like to get longer arrows for adults, not kiddie arrows. Any recommendations on some decent target arrows that fly well at these bow weights? Feathers preferred. If I could buy one kind, that would be nice. I prefer not to have to tune them, just something that flies decent.
For woods at those weights I use Sitka Spruce from Hildebrandt - nice light arrows for light bows.
Don't have a clue about aluminum or carbon as I don't use them.
I have a 31# Mohawk longbow that I shoot 1716s from. I have to load the front end up with 200gr field points because the bow is not cut to center, but they do fly very nicely.
They don't make 200 gr pield points for 9/32 arrows, but the heavy ones are tapered at the rear to 5/16 and it seems close enough that they pull from either foam or bag targets easily. I mean how deeply can you stick an arrow with a 31# bow :)

I'd check out Big Jim's and go with some 1535 blems. You may have to play with point weight just a little (that's part of the fun to me...finding what works best). But you can't beat a carbon arrow for toughness. And you can't beat Big Jim on the price for the blems. Just my opinion.
The best arrows for the 30 lb bow are the CX 800's and the best for the 40 are the 1535's.
They are actually the same price, but won't interchange.
Get a half doz of each and then you'll be good to go.
