Title: New Grizzly or Super Grizzly?
Post by: skychief on June 03, 2014, 05:25:00 PM
Which would you choose and why?

Recently had a 70's era Grizzly delaminated and need to replace it.

Asking about newly manufactured Bear bows, not vintage.

The bow will be used for whitetail, carp and casual 3d shooting.

Thanks for your thoughts, Skychief

If I was to buy a new one I would choose the Super Grizzly. The new Grizzly is a dacron only bow and the Super Grizzly is FF rated so you can use any string material even including dacron if you want.Personal preference, just not a fan of dacron especially on a new bow.If I wanted to shoot dacron I would look for a vintage bow.I shoot a modern low stretch string material on all my bows. The bow feels more solid and not springy, can reduce handshock on some bows and last longer.I don't shoot it for any speed or performance increase. My only bows I shoot B50 on are my two vintage Ben Pearson's,I rarely shoot them though.JMO

I'd check out the grips before I bought either. Might not be what your use to. Not sure if either is the same as the older Grizz.

The grips are chunkier on the new ones

Either will do, but the Super Grizzly is fast flight compatible and will be smoother drawing.

Grizzlys are great bows!
