I took my 11 year old daughter, Belle, out bowfishing for the first time today. It was a lot slower today than it was last week but she was able to connect on her first fish anyway. I could've been happier or prouder at that moment. She's taking her bowhunter safety course in a couple of weeks. I hope she's hooked for life. She asked me "Dad, can I go with you everytime you go out?" That was music to my ears!!
way to go Belle!!!!! Congrats on a fine Carp. :clapper:

Great start!!
Great start!!
Nice!!
Yahoo, another convert!!
That's awesome! I'm very proud for both of you.
I can't wait til my little girl can pull enough weight to kill fish. I know she will be hooked then...that's what hooked me! My dad had me in the woods as long as I can remember...I killed my first deer when I was 8. But he never took me bowfishing.
My little girl is my good luck charm when shooting fish. I took her with me the other day and we massacred the fish. I entered a tournament on Saturday without her.......I killed two.
Congrats Belle!
Shag08 I know what you mean about bow weight I think she was boarder line on weight ( about 20 lbs at her draw length) I was worried about penetration. I also have an 8 year old but I'm making her wait a few years before she bowfishes. I feel bad leaving her home but I make up for it with some one on one fishing for pan fish with her.
Awesome! Enjoy every minute, they grow up way too fast!
LD

awesome job there dad. I started my grandson at 5yr and time has flown. He graduates boot camp next week . He's 18 and a half. Time goes to fast. Take plenty of pictures dad while their growing up. You will never have to many.
I went back out with my dad today I got about 10 fish and we shot so many that our big rubber maid tote was over flowing with fish. My mom will put the pictures on later.

That is what being a father is all about.
Its amazing how we get more excited then they do at their fun and happiness in the outdoors.
No better way to spend quality time together and memories she will have for life!
Awesome job teaching her and glad to see she is loving it.
It just doesnt get any better.

Good times!
Belle is a tough one buddy ;)
That first pic on page 2, is a HOOT of her besides all those fish! What a spitfire look she's got!
You go Belle!
Dad, you going to have your hands full shortly...and another one coming along behind!
 :saywhat:
I'll be saying  for ya!
what a glorious way to build a lasting bond!
Looks like a lot of fun. Congrats Dad and Belle

Doc Nock that is one of my favorite pictures of our outing I laugh every time I look at it. The reason she looks like that is you cant believe how ripe those fish were , she's trying to hold her breath will I took the picture. I already have my hands full, Belle is the oldest of my three daughters at 11 years old the other two are 8 and 2 and I just turned 50 not looking forward to the dating years. I wonder if I will still be able to scare the boys away in my advanced years.
Jim are you going this Saturday Belle cant make so I'm going to take Lexie this time I hope she can shoot Belles bow its the only kids bow with a real on it.
Alex,
Old and crotchety should work...bible in one hand, shotgun in the other... that oughta keep em in line...
Now you went and let the cat out! I thought that was just pure P n Vinegar look of the lass...but now I know she was holding in a gag reflex!
If the rest look as adorable as Belle, I do NOT envy you, Hoss!
Only thing ya can do is teach em right, keep em close and pray come 17-18, they'll shake their head and say, "Nope! Sorry, My daddy wouldn't want me to do that!"
Alex, I'm going to give it a try
I hope you can make it
Fantastic!
good job Dad
