How much profit can a company really gain
by scrimping on materials. I'm in the market
for something similar to the old style Damascus
glove with enough protection that I would not have
to use medical tape under.
There was a thread on here just a few days ago on this I agree the new Damascus gloves are terrible.
Two good alternatives were brought to my attention . The goat skin glove at kustom king a tad thicker than the Damascus of old.
And the kangaroo skin glove at Lancaster archery. I'm told is almost spot on to the feel and thickness of the older Damascus glove.
So thre ya go ;)
I've used Damascus gloves for many years. I remember paying about $8.50 for my first few. I have noticed over the last few years they have been using thinner materials. IMO, the old Damascus gloves were about perfect so now they are less than perfect and with a price almost twice as much but I still prefer them over others I've tried.
The glove i use was given to me and im pretty sure its a damascus, i get blisters on my fingers when i use it. im thinking of switching to a tab since i switched to 3 under.
OX, I usually turn a new Damascus glove inside out and trim the excess leather along the seams. That will help prevent the blisters.

Thanks for that review Tedd.
I'm a glove guy also. Damascus in particular. Just placed an order for the Lancaster glove. Hope it has the feel of the better Damascus gloves of recent memory.
This past year I got a Damascus style glove from Bearpaw and its a very good glove. I would recommend them highly. Rich
Pat B, ill give that a shot. I really appreciate it.
