I was bear hunting the other night in a very thick, little canyon and stopped to pick some morels and jumped this snowshoe hare. They aren't thick here but there are a few around.I had never got a shot at one before. He stopped in a real tangle of blowdowns and small seedlings but there was one,4" opening and somehow I got an arrow through. The bow is a Mojo Stik and the head was a 225 gr VPA Small Game Thumper. That Thumper is a pretty wicked head and he never twitched.Anyway,I got two really great suppers out of that and am wishing I had a freezer full of snowshoes.

it wouldn't be complete without some brown gravy!
Snowshoe hare is excellent eating and I've eaten a lot of them... A LOT!!
That was when I lived in Wyoming and our season there was from fall to late winter.
