I came across a damon howatt hunter in a anteque store, it was strung, resting in a corner on its lower limb it had a quiver with 5 arrows. on it had a sign saying long bow. Ok that tells me that they know nothing about bows.how can I tell if it is ok, they had $75.00 on it but I am sure I can get for less.

My guess is it would be fine, unless the lower limb is severly twisted from being stored, standing in a corner. Even if it is, it can be fixed. I would definitely put a new string on it. Offer them less, even at $75, I don't think you could go wrong. Just look it over real good and go with your gut. Good luck.

If it's in good condition $75.00 is real cheap and a quiver also..Did it have inserts on the riser for a quiver? Like Paul has already said "Ask if they would take less" and if not it's a bargain at $75.00

And if you pass it by, PM me and I'll make the drive to get it!

I was outbid on one last night. I bid 130. sight unseen thinking I would bid a little less than half what the value was.

Unless it's visibly wrecked $75 should be a good price. We'll be looking for some pictures...

Wish I still had my DH Hunter. It went to Colorado someplace, 65# refinished riser by Martin.

Check for tip delamination and limbtwist...... any delamination....if none of the above, go for it.
