I am looking for a static tip recurve with a heavy riser.
Would like a 40-45# bow. Will the static tips be much faster compared to a working recurve at this low poundage?
I feel a heavy riser might be a nice departure from the featherweights I have been shooting.
Any suggestions about manufacturers and/or models appreciated very much.
Thanks, Skychief.
I have a RER VITAL, 51@28 . Heavy riser and beautiful static tips. I think that this a great option
Call South at Stalker he can hook you up :)

Jack Kemph makes a nice one also.

Here is a Sasquatch SS static tip bow with good mass weight to the riser. Ironwood is excellent riser wood for a working mans bow, but theres nothing fancy about the wood grain. Other riser woods with good mass weight are Bubinga, Bocote, & Ebony. and adding a G-10 I-beam adds a bit more strength and mass weight too.
The heaviest riser i build is a G-10 Garlite riser.
it adds another 8-10 ounces in weight over hardwood.

Rer vital all the way...
Call Kevin he may have a stock bow....
:archer2:
Nice static limb design... Quick and quiet..
Another option is an ILF wood riser.......then pickup a set of Dryad Static tip recurve limbs. I have a 17" Zipper riser with a set.....excellent!

I like heavy risers and Kirk at Bigfoot is building me an SS take down, satic tip recurve, with the G-10 I-beam. The three piece also gets extra mass from the mounting hardware. The performance he is getting out of a glass bow is something.
A metal riser ILF would be the heaviest and matched with Morrison's max1 or Dryads static recurve would fit the bill.

I own a RER VItal that Kevin built for me. It has the heavier mass in the Riser and the Static Tips he makes are real smooth shooters. Once you shoot one you'll agree.
My Dryad orion is made of phenolic and marble wood. Its heavy but stable bow. Just look below for the rest of my bow stats.
All you have to do is ask., I build riser to customer desires. As long as they are workable.
Shedua, Bubinga, Rosewood, Maccassar ebony, Elk Antler,English Walnut, Cocabola, purpleheart, Ironwood, combined with phenolic and glass will all make a nice heavy riser.
God bless, Steve
Check out Timberghost.
RER Vital... I saw Kevin this weekend, and he had a couple in stock, ready to go...
Very nice bow, and he said it is his fastest recurve in his line up.
I believe it was a 60" 50lbs at 28"s...
