Title: everynow and then. I get to make one of these
Post by: Mike Mecredy on May 23, 2014, 05:58:00 PM
While I value all of the customers that contact me and trust me to make their bows, ever so often, I get an order for one like this;

Plain and simple, the ones I want to keep for myself.  Walnut, brown glass, red elm limbs, all American, and 60" long, 55# @ 28", fast and quiet, to sum it up perfect. (In my simple way of looking at things, it's perfect anyway)

One blemish on that otherwise perfect bow, Mike....

Shelf is on the wrong side    :biglaugh:

Sounds/looks beautiful. Post up some more pics when you can, if you want...

I have only been doing this traditional thing for one year now but I have noticed that the bows that seem to attract most archers are the pretty ones.

Recently I traded bows with a fella who told me that he would also pack me a little surprise to ship with the traded bow.  It was a very plain jane looking Maple Valley Carbon longbow ( it won't even come up on google) but boy does that bow shoot.  Haven't touched my Slammer or Buffalo since I got it.

Beauty is in the eye of the bow-holder I guess.

Mike

Is that your prairie predator???

What do you recommend for 28.5" draw as far as length.

Yes it's a prairie predator.  It can be draw to 29".  I mark it @ 28", it seem like "the thing to do" these days.

Don't let that "simple bow" fool you, I bet it'll really send an arrow.
