Pocatello is in a place where there's lots of hunting opportunity in all directions.  It's a good sized town, I'm not sure what you profession is, but you should be able to find work. Here's the link for Idaho dept. of labor and you can find jobs available there.   http://labor.idaho.gov/dnn/Default.aspx?alias=labor.idaho.gov/dnn/idl

I live about 60 miles west of there.

Everyday life:  It costs me around $30 a year to resister my vehicle, cost of living is low, you can get a home for a decent price, the summers are hot, the winters are cold, spring and fall are cool, crime rate ain't bad, no hassles with having guns, few democrats, lot's of Mormons, lots of un-documented (but very hard working and friendly) migrant workers.  Life's pretty simple here in Idaho.

Well i do have my NY and canadian brothers to consider (might have to burn a little more boot leather to find stumps in some areas). Gotta make sure i get a bit of land so we can start some sort of hunting and fishing commune. Something usually falls apart on these cross-country career moves, but im gonna try and see what happens.
Cross ur fingers eastern brothers, we'll get there yet!!

Here's some fascinating facts about Pocatello Idaho. It was named after Chief Pocatello of the Shoshone tribe, when he granted access of the railroad to pass though the fort Hall reservation.  But he didn't like to use the name "Pocatello" but preferred to be called Tondzaosha, a Shoshoni word meaning buffalo robe.

Idaho City is paradise compared to Pocatello, it's in the mountains a little north of Boise.  Lot's of deer, bear and elk, lot's of fishing.  There's little creeks running everywhere with lots of brook trout, and rainbows.  You can go north from there, get to garden valley and then head east and get to Stanley, and salmon, in the saw tooth range. I probably would have tried to move there when I left mountain home but I didn't want to pay that price for a home there.  It costs a bit more for property than the southern part of the state.
