With VPA you have a choice between 2 and 3 blades...tough heads that shoot like field points for me

I second the VPA's. There is also the Woodsman Elite in a 3 blade or the Zwickey Delta in 170gr with either 2 blade or with bleeders.

If you want inexpensive you could go with the Zwickey Deltas screw in.  They advertise 170 but come in around 175-177

If you can spend a little more, a broadhead that is all steel (no aluminum adapter) will be stronger.  You could try VPA in a three blade or the Tigersharks in a two blade.

If you stick with aluminum adapters, there are tons of combinations....i should know b/c I like to obsess and tinker over things like this   :)

Red 130gr grizzlies with 40ish brain aluminum inserts. My aluminum inserts weigh in at 142gr. With the weightof whatever adhesive they will come in treally close to 175gr

I like the 175 grain VPA's for a 3 blade but for a 2 blade I use the Magnus 135's with inserts they tip the scales at about 180

I'm in the Tigershark camp, they fly great and leave big holes.

Woodsman Elites shoot very well for me too. And are a touch easier to sharpen, I have not shot one into any game yet.

Woodsman Elites fly very well and they are very strong (solid).

I second the grizzlies. Red 130's, 42 grain aluminum adapter and JB weld to hold it together.  very solid head and amazing performance for what you pay.

Zwickey Delta and Zwickey No Mercy will hit between 165-175 with a long BHA. Also they are not very expensive and have been around almost forever.

Ive used the woodsman elites on a hanfull of critters.  also the razor caps.  ive used eclipse with adapters on 2 animals and stos with adapters.  all were 175 total head weight all did their job when I did mine.

I should have mentioned this in my earlier post, but a 135 grain Ace Standard on a 42 grain adapter is another affordable and tough broadhead. You can also use a 145 Ace Standard and the smaller diameter 30 grain adapter and it will sit up inside the broadhead about an 1/16" which makes for a stronger overall combo assuming your arrow's diameter isn't too large to snug up against it. See pic below.

Either way, Ace are easy to get sharp, affordable, and tough as nails.
