Wow, that is a great looking bow! Congrats!!!
RER's are good bows and great performers. What's the specs.......? I just picked up a used Arroyo, 60" 43# @ 28".
58"
43lbs at 28"
Smooth and quiet. Very very fast... Boo cores
I'm a static fan.....
:shaka: :shaka:
What a looker. I knew it had to be getting close and was just waiting. Awesome buddy!!!
Mitch, you did good
Thanks mike
I really like the 58" heck all RERs are awesome.
Man that is just some killer bocote. They definitely got the static tips that rock.
Have a good look for images in the bocote grain...I was just looking at the lemur image mine shows...I long ago stopped appreciating how nice looking my LXR is because it is such a great bow to shoot...you did good opting for the "plain" version since there is nothing plain about that bow
DDave
Sweet looking bow! I sure do love bocote.
Nice looking rig Mitch!
Let's see some hero pics with it this fall!
That is sweet!
This ones almost as nice as Steve's XR.....
Cocobolo and Black Glass :archer2: :archer2:
Wow that's a beauty!! Great bow Mitch.
That is some INCREDIBLE looking bocote! Very nice bow.
Sweet looking bow buddy !!! Congrats
Bill

Wow Mitchell, that's a great looking bow Bud! Enjoy her! :archer:
They are great bows. Kevin produces some of very finest fit/finish around, I mean no flaws or sanding marks. I hope the guys taking over RER keep that up.
Gotta love Bocote. Beautiful bow!
Yes, very nice bow !
Great looking bow Mitch!!
An RER static recurve has been on my short list for way too long.
Bacote is my favorite, and that is a beautiful bow!

Has the company been sold???
43# pounds...hey that's my specs....lol! Did some 3/D today with my Arroyo......really nice.
Kevin and sue built a great following ..
This bow with no silencers and 2016 s is darn quiet and rocket fast....
The XR half of my LXR combo is also 43# (the LX is 46#) and I'm shooting 2117s with 175 up front and it's right on. Shot it 150 yds on our 200 yd rifle range today. I think I could have gotten 175 yds with just a touch more elevation and that's a really heavy arrow. Bet we could trade bows back and forth and never know which one we're shooting :)
Mitch, I am sure happy you waited.. Kevin did you good. I know you're gonna love it. Congrats.
I'm shooting my Vortex and Arroyo [both 43#] with 2016-125 gr and 2117-200r. Both shoot well.
Ron an Ron
Your spot on my bow likes 2016s...
They are hammers...
Beautiful XR, Mitch!!!
Man, I miss my XR...and my LX...and my Arroyo! Sometimes my trying every bow under the sun has really backfired. My RER's are the only bows I wish I could have back.
Very nice! Got one of those for my daughter and was really I impressed. Very smooth and quick. The grip is excellent!! Enjoy
That is Awesome Looking Bocote!! Wow! Kevin and Sue are super nice folks.
Congrats Mitch :)
A little more to the story: :readit:
Last April, I had a chance to visit Kevin and Sue to finalize my order. Kevin had just finished a 58" Retro for stock, for me to try out. Well, it was everything Bladespeak, and JohnnyK said it was. They have both shot this bow. So, I have another RER Coming, this will be his Retro Recurve, I've been wanting a 50"s style one piece, the bonus is this has the Static Recurve Limbs which I really really like.
Kevin was going to get these both out, but I couldn't finalize my woods choices.
It is going to be Cocobolo/Waterfall Bubinga Veneers and I can't wait.
Pictures sometime next month.... :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:
sweet^^^
can't wait to see pics.
Wow! What a beauty! That one goes on my top five list for RER bows!
I'm looking forward to those pics too, Mitch.
I have a pretty clear mental picture of how it's going to look. Can't wait to see how close it comes to that :)
"Bocoteized" Looks good.
Wow that's a nice looking now Mitch !!!
I heard Kevin is retiring and has sold the company just recently.
Bazooka
You are correct. I'm confident the new owners are going to carry the torch. I'm going to order a bow from them this fall.
Most likely a Vortex II longbow... They'll get good training.

A third RER???
I gotta hear this:)
Gotta have a longbow jake... :knothead: :knothead: :knothead:
Bocote to me is one of those woods that either looks fantastic, or leaves a little to be desired. Mostly depending on how it is utilized, the bow design, and of course the color and lines of the wood and grain. This one falls into the stunningly fantastic category! Congrats on a masterpiece. Both wood and design. I've never shot an RER, but have heard only great things about them. Definitely on my try before I die list. How bout a full draw pic? Good luck with her!
Paul, if you ever get as far south as Greenville (about 40 mins N of Grand Rapids) you're welcome to stop by and shoot mine. I have an LXR that has 58" static tip recurve limbs like Mitch's and 62" longbow limbs.I sure don't pan on parting with mine, though.
I received my XR on 5-1-14 it is a 64in 45@30 Bolivian Rosewood with a quilted maple flair riser. The limbs are bamboo core veneers are sapele,it is a beauty to look at and an unbelievable great shooting bow. These bows are everything people say about them smooth and accurate.
And the pictures are where? You realize there are more than a few RER lovers on here that
WANT TO SEE PICS!

What Ron said gotta have pics..
How do I go about posting pics ,never did it help.
There are some procedures listed in the computer forum. You will need a picture hosting site - Snap Fish, Photo Bucket, imgur, etc. I use PhotoBucket.
I upload the picture to Photo Bucket, then put my cursor on the thumbnail picture and a tool wheel appears. Put the cursor on the tool wheel and a menu drops down. Select "get links" and a list of links appear. Click on the bottom link "image" and it will say "copied". Then just paste the link on your Trad Gang post.
If you don't have a photo host site, e-mail me some pics and I'll put them on your Trad Gang post for you. We RER junkies need frequent fixes :)

Here's some pics of Bigjackfish's new RER. Yep. I'd recognize that bow as one of Kevin's work in a heartbeat. Wish I'd edited that 3rd picture so it would be easier to read.

Man that is a great combo great wood choice...
:clapper:
I'm not sure Kevin would agree to build a bow that didn't look great. Seems like I really like every wood combo I've seen so far. He had a bunch at K'zoo this year and if mine hadn't been waiting for me there, I could have grabbed any one of several off the rack and walked out of the show feeling like I had the winner of a beauty contest.
Yes, she is in fact a beauty!
I choose the woods for my bow ,I do a little woodworking as a hobby .Love maple of any kind mixed with something darker .
Ron, I appreciate the offer! If I ever get down that way, I'll be sure to get in touch. The same goes for you. There are a couple great 3D courses around here that we could have some fun with. Thanks again. I think I can see a road trip in my near future.
