Well I have to spring for a new Back Quiver. Which one do you Good Folks have on your back? I guess mostly for 3-D. Maybe Hunting now and again.
I am really pleased with mine, it's made by Nate Steen.
A few folks have been pleased with this guy's back quivers.... :D

I can attest to Bud's back quiver.I have had one for about a month and I can say that I do not think you can get a bettter built back quiver than his.His work is flawless and he will
make it to your specs,he will have one on the St.Jude auction so dont't miss out and it also helps the kids.Lou
Howard Hill soft quivers are good, no break in time required.
Just got a hh soft quiver in the mail this Morning along with a hh glove and arm guard. Can't hardly wait to try em out but I know it's gonna take some gettin used to! Hope I like these as well as I do my hh redman.
Here's my favorite, also by Bud B!

This one is by BOGGs leather. Fabulous looking and great craftsmanship. I like the oval shape to it because in does not stick too far out away from your back.

I'm a fan of Bud's work. He does this for us and more importantly, for the kids of St. Jude's. Bravo my friend.

Very nice looking quivers bud, and good on you for helping the kids out!
Man I like that snakeskin quiver!! Very nice work!!
If you're gonna use it hunting then I would suggest David Creger. Soft leather to conform to your back and trap the arrows. Skipper approved lol.
I have a Jerry Hill, Hill style.....love it!
For 3D's I like a basket quiver. I got my from Sue Dwyer, she makes a nice basic quality backquiver and then I dressed it up a bit with some beaver fur and a couple of other items, its my go to daily bucket to carry arrows. Use other quivers for hunting.
I agree on the Dwyer quiver. Very nice for the money. My boy uses one too.
I have a Howard Hill with the stiffer leather and it is breaking in nicely. I even hunted with it last fall.
Another vote for Bud's ST Jude quiver... The quiver comes with some special mojo that you can't find anywhere else.
I have a Hill and I just picked up a Schulz American Leathers back quiver at the Baltimore shoot swap meet this weekend. It's a bit heavier than my Hill and I shot all day with it yesterday and it seemed to work out great
I also like a David Creger. Bud's quivers look great too.
You can't go wrong with our own MikeG!!!
I have one of his original large Hunter quivers and just talked him out of his personal "American" style quiver (I'm trying to convince myself to feel bad about that, but I can't do it...the quiver is already broken in and works GREAT!!!)...

If you look close at the second picture, you can see the back pocket quiver Mike makes (that I forgot to take out before the shoot) and the leather water bottle carrier he offers. My wife liked mine so much, we picked one up from Mike at the last shoot we were at and ended up buying a hip quiver too! His quality is fantastic and everything is hand made here in the USA by a Veteran and long time TGang Member!
Give him a call... he'll set you up with what you need!
Stump
Bryan Korte that quiver is a killer. Beautiful. But...I love my Palmer Bow Mate. It isn't near as pretty as what is posted here. But I'll tell you this....I can get arrows out of it so fast, and smooth it is like my longbows are semi-automatics. I love the thing. rat'
I have known bud for a long time. i know that he doesn't take shortcuts and if he's making those quivers they are of the best quality. Very nice quiver bud.
picture doesn't do it justice, but I carry this quiver that my uncle hand carved/painted for me. very proud of it.

Don't know about 3D, but for hunting, stump shooting, and roving I find the basic Hill style back quiver hard to beat compared to the several designs I have tried over the years.
Have Cedar Ridge Leatherworks back quiver by Art Vincent. Have had it for several years, very happy with it.
Schulz American Leather's and a Hill on the right

Skipper that Creger is a BEAUTY!
I have a 4 inch quiver I bought from a fellow TG member. It was made by Mikes American Leather and I love it. Its pictured in my avatar.
In fact as I write these words I can see it hangin on a peg in my garage... Did I say I love it...lol
I agree with Pavan. The soft HH quiver is great. I do wish it had a bigger accessory pouch. More than big enough, comfortable and almost no break-in.
I sell this one on my website, made by MAL

I mostly like one that sits still and doesn't drop arrows when bending over. Latigo works great and my local leather guy made me just what I wanted.

ncheels,
That is Really Cool! How well does it work? I love that you have a place for a 'hawk and for your bow. Just might have to steal that design....
ncheels,
That really turned out nice.
I was super happy with what he did. I knew what I wanted and asked my local leather guy (Alamo Leather) to do it. He had no problem as I was pretty much able to tell/draw him what I wanted. I sits very still, no matter how much I hike around stump shooting, bending over. And since it goes flat in the middle, the arrows do not move until I take them out.
Dorado - go ahead and use it. The hawk in that position feels nice on my back. Nothing uncomfortable at all. I don't normally carry the bow like that but I wanted the slots for the bow, just to have it.
Thanks Brian. Hope you're doing well.
I am waiting for a custom made quiver, suitable for on the back and on the hip. Made out of thick saddle leather and some nice artwork on it. I have been looking for a loooong time for the ideal quiver and this one might be it.
Have to wait another 4 weeks, so no pics yet. As soon as I have it, pics will follow!
Thanks ncheels. I'll try copying it. I'll have to change just a couple things. But really the only thing that bothers me about it, is the exposed blade right behind your shoulder. Have you had any issues with it?
No issues "so far" with the hawk blade. Guess you could keep a hawk cover on the head, while it's on the quiver. That would take care of any concern. I thought about the hawk mounted to the middle of the quiver but that would have just been too much weight there, in my opinion. I thought it was better to have it on the wide shoulder strap like it is. Weight is more balanced too.
Definitely show some pics if you make one for yourself. :)
Here is one I made back around 1981. You can see it's well used. It has held up well for the years.

Bentpole I like the sidekick 3d from www.hidehandler.com (http://www.hidehandler.com) by Steve Catts , It can be used as a back or side quiver .
Mike
ncheels....that's a nice rig you have, but I would sheath that hawk blade...!!! Saw some pretty dastardly accidents occur to both carrier and onlooker alike with the exposed edge. If you trip you could pull the old Vincent vangogh one ear deal..... :D
I bet My new quiver from Bud B. is going to be My new favorite! Can't wait!
