I just jumped on Jerry Russells opening! Ive been wanting to do this for as long as I can remember!

I feel like a fat lady on The Price Is Right and Bob Barker just called my name!

You'll have a blast. Jerry's a fine fellow. I haven't been on that hunt (yet) but he's who I'll go with when I do. They get some BIG bears from his area.

Good stuff right there!  Had I not been headed to Manitoba next week to hunt with Ron Dare and Bear Track Outfitters I would have jumped on that hunt as well.  You made a good decision and will have a great time!!

I am as pumped as you, lol. Bear guiding /hunting is hands down my most favorite thing to do. We are going to have one AWESOME adventure.

Call any time, lol. That is part of the excitement of these "away" hunts. I am getting pumped as we finalize the massive packing list. You can only imagine the mountain of supplies for a remote bear camp. Jerry I see that you guys are on lakes, do you fish much?  Also do you use boats to get to your bait sites?

There are over 400 lakes within the reserve but with a great road system there is no need to use boats. It is a neat way to hunt for sure but it makes daily baiting a nightmare.

There is very good fishing on the lakes and rivers but to be honest, we work so hard that I never get a chance to fish. Most of the hunters will do some fishing after taking their bear.

Just bring a light tackle spinning rod with 6-8 pound test. There are more lakes and river miles than you could fish in a lifetime.

I'm honestly as pumped about the brook trout as I am about the bears!

I'll be bringing my fly & Tenkara gear!  :)
