Hey Gang....Teresa Asbell has come up with a couple new patterns. We are pretty sure the name of the one Todd Smith is wearing (with the whitetail) will be "Morning Mist"....although we would love to hear your suggestions. The other pattern needs a name, help us out Tradgang! :bigsmyl:

The first one should be "purple haze"
I think the black and white plaid Todd is wearing should be called "Shades of Winter". The other one, "Grape Vine"... :dunno:
I would say "Purple Rain" but I don't think a Prince song quite fits with Trad bowhunting. :biglaugh:
Couple options...
"Boggy Brown"
"Highlands Plaid" (reminds me of the Scottish highlands for some reason)
Hi Roger,
Those look great! Are the Hoods cut smaller than usual? They look like it in the pics. Are they pull overs or half or full zips?
Harry
Sunset Berry
Fall Berry
Sundown Ruby
Twilight Rose
Evening Scarlet
How about "Fall Phantom" or 'Phantom Fall" for the first
Shadow
Purple Heart?

First thing I thought too, but Purpleheart has a better archery connection to me.

How about autumn sunset.
"Red Oak Special"
The one Todd is wearing looks much like my wool jacket and I love the colors in it! Maybe call it "Autumn"...

Crimson Trail
"Sneaky Sumac"
Leland
Those are both really nice patterns. I'd want one of each!
If you guys had to pick one over the other....which would it be?
I would go with the larger plaid. Those colors are a green and sort of an "oatmeal" . I have seen it on Todd in the bush....those pictures show that it blends as well in the Midwestern woods as it does in the Idaho mountains.

I like both, but if I had to pick just one....Morning Mist.
These are good for the top pic.

Fall Berry
Evening Scarlet
or maybe "Holly Berry" or "Cranberry"
for the other one maybe "Green Timber" or "Tall Pines" or "Early October" or "Prairie Green" or "Green Ghost" or "Western Green"or "Tumble Weed".
Some excellent names here....I like "Sumac". Nice.
I like the Morning Mist/olive & oatmeal pattern. Looks like it would be very versatile.
The purple one I will order immediately. When is it available?
What weght wool will it be in. I need a vest also
I'm not as creative as all of you when it comes to making up names. But I just know that I love them both no matter what they are called!
Grey Dawn
Roger,
Please tell Teresa to stop coming up with new patterns, I'm running out of money-each new pattern looks better than the one before!!
Man some great names have come up for these.
:clapper:
Answering a couple questions:
The hoods are the same. They are unique in that Teresa and Fred designed them to fit over a Fedora style hat. Little known secret...Fred had Teresa re-sew the hood 9 times before they decided it was "just right". I love the oversized hood, and I rarely wear a brimmed hat in the woods. I like being able to slowly move my head side to side INSIDE THE HOOD with little to no movement of the hood itself.
The wool weight on this is somewhere in the "medium" range. Not as thick as my grey blanket weight Anorak, but thicker than lightweight.
Red Cedar
first one....Muscodine Vine
second one...Autumn Mist
I like how the larger plaid blends in with the shadows in the picture, and I'm with you Roger I liked sumac too.
Great patterns! I would call the second one Mountain Berry brown.
Dew Berry
Fox Grape for the first one. I like Sumac for second one also.
Adirondack plaid, it just reminds me of when the leaves change here.
For the first plaid, "Crabapple". The second plaid, "Frosty Morning".
That Morning Mist looks perfect for the Michigan woods after leaf drop. Best pattern I've seen yet.
Teresa is thinking about bringing this one back...I think it is called "Montana Morning"

How about something with blaze orange in the body area, and something like evening stand brown for the sleeves and hood? I think that would be nice for late season here in Michigan.
Looks like im buying some wool! Great thread.
"Berry Blend" or "Berry Nice"
I like the 2nd one. That is olive and tan, right?
If other hunting camps are anything like mine, then I think "Swamp Gas" would hit the mark. :biglaugh:
I, too, would like some Asbell wool with some blaze orange in it... But not solid orange.
As for names... how about "Cranberry" and "Oatmeal"?
