Has anyone purchased a decent Damascus glove recently? The last two I got where really thin and undersized. like some kind of dainty women's driving glove. Obviously not being made by the usual mfg.
Actually they really aren't even usable. But I can't recall where I purchased them.
By design the Damascus gloves are thinner than most. But these recent ones are the thinnest leather I have ever seen.
I'm looking for the good ones. In size XL.
Actually can someone educate me on the name "Damascus Glove". Is it a type of leather? Is it the name of a manufacturer? Is it pig skin? Goat skin?
Thanks
Tedd
I'm in for this. Same findings.
I just got a speed glove from Big Jim made by Bearpaw and it is awesome quality. The finger stalls are lined with cordura but they probably have an unlined one if you prefer that. Good bison leather!
Lined? On the inside?
The Damascus glove is a brand and made of goat skin. Yes, the quality has gone down as have most of the gloves that have been farmed out to over seas mfg's.
The bear paw classic glove is nice but not thin and they have several other nice gloves too.
We also carry a neet glove with cordovan tips that is nice.
All in all, the nicest gloves are probably the big shot gloves made here in the states. No, not super thin but that is hard to do and not be too thin.
thanks, bigjim
Hey Jim!
Just giving ya a heads up.
Check your web site. The Damascus is listed as doe skin leather not goat skin.
Girl goats are often called "does" too.

Well,
I guess they are aren't they does or Nannys .
That's a little misleading most of us think of does as whitetail deer.
There is a glove on kustom kings web page that is listed as a goat skin glove.
You might look at RMSGs gloves. USA made, good leather, and plenty sturdy.
