Title: Arrow help
Post by: Fireman2019 on May 02, 2014, 12:07:00 AM
Looking for some advice on shafts.  My BW Pch 58" 57# @ 28"s should be ready in a few weeks.  I would like to go with Easton Axis Traditional shafts.  After looking at several spine charts I think 340's are what I should order.  Planning on using 150gr field tips.  What are your guys thoughts?

Just did a search on axis trads and it looks like 400's are what most guys are using for a set up like mine.

I'm shooting .400 with 75gr inserts and 125gr points out of my 60# and they fly like darts.

I'm guessing you could probably go either way, widows like them stiff so the .340 should work.

Yep, I have a PCH II 58" 58@28. My current arrows are Arrow Dynamics HammerHead Trads with 200gr up front. My draw is 28.5" and I have them cut 29 1/4" BOP. The AD Trads are the stiffer spined AD's. I never could get Beeman ICS Bowhunter 400's to fly right, so when I went to order new arrows, I went with the AD's. I liked the idea/concept of the tapered shaft and the ability to fly well out of several different bows. I still want a set of FMJ's and if I do, I'll go with 340. I too, think Widows like a stiffer spine. Good luck.

If your looking into woodies, try Oregon Arrows. Don is top notch! He is very knowledgeable. Very reasonable for the quality of arrows. When the box came to my house my wife said, a box arrived with beautiful hand writing... Women  :)
