I have been messing around with a 56" recurve ILF set up and it's really impressing me. Anybody hunting with an ILF set up that they really like?
i have two, first is a ******** Titan1 riser with 45# Blackmax Carbon limbs in long, ans a Warfed Black Bear riser with the same limbs in mediums, the Titan comes out to a 60" bow and the Black Bear is a 64" bow. Theses two are fast becoming my favorite bows to shoot. I just bought a used set of Hex-5 limbs from a fella on here, should have them by next week, i think these are going to be awesome on either riser.
I haven't gotten into one yet. Several guys around here (Utah) are shooting the TT Titan also with same or similar blackmax limbs as above. Most shoot of a rest with plunger. Still can't go down that road but they shoot good and are starting to look cooler to me. I do like the ILF idea for sure.
I'm currently using a 15" Phoenix and Dryad Epic RC limbs. Strung, the bow is 58" due to the curves in the limbs. I like that it's compact! Shooting off the shelf.
Morrison Mini 13 ILF handle with Carbon/foam recurve limbs (also Morrison) 58" AMO and 43#@28. Also have a set of Centaur ILF longbow limbs making same AMO and weight Limbs are bamboo/carbon. Love it.
I have a 17" Zipper with 2 sets of Dryad statics, 39-43# and 44-48#. I have not hunted with it yet. I'm messing around with a ** ** Recon 15" with 40# Black Max shorts. Even with a 29" draw it seems to behave very well. I also have a Morrison mini 14" but my wife has claimed it.....lol!
Titan 1 riser with medium TT limbs 50@ 28". Shoot off the shelf.
Also have two dx5 risers both with ilf one withong limbs and the other with shorts
I have 3 sets of risers and 3 sets of limbs and mix and match. Probably my favorite is my Morrison 17" wood riser and the SF Elite plus limbs [about $275 at Alt services]
I also have the Titan and I shoot it as good as anything- the mass makes it so nice to shoot- going to use it for carp when my elbow finally heals.
I have another BC riser that I modified and it feels real good but the metal limb pockets squeak and grind for some reason, electric tape quiets it for a few shots then its back. I like the limb angle of the Morrison the best too- the others are a bit more sloped.
TT 17" Titan riser with Samick BF Extreme mediums, pulling 46#. I've had alot of risers and limbs but this is the combo that really works for me best.
I shoot a DAS master hunter, with border hex 6bb2 limbs and love them. I shot winex limbs off the same riser before the borders.
I am waiting on mine. The funny thing that got me going towards this is the bowyers I've talked to that have already changed to ILF 3 or more years now. The tuning and interchangeability is amazing and grips and limbs are outstanding. Jim Belcher told me you can use a solid plunger to tune center shot for different spined arrows. All have said it is very durable and is what they travel with hunting.
Hey Huntrix what about some pics of the Centaur libs?
19" Morrison gen2 metal riser off shelf with pressure button, Dryad acs longbow limbs longs, drawn to 29.5 super smooth and man that bow almost shoots itself.
I have an old Hoyt Rambo riser with some no name carbon-wood limbs that I would hunt with in a minute. The bow pulls at 48# and with the skinny string it is quite with just a set of whiskers on it. I use a modified brush rest, no plunger.
Sky TDX 15" riser for me with cheapo Winex recurve meds limbs pulling 54 lbs. maxed out. I would like to get some top o the line limbs someday. But it shoots good and is the quietest bow I own.
I have had the Morrison, Titan and now a Zipper with Bills Carbon Foam limbs.
All very, very nice bows but have to say I am partial to the Zipper.
Das riser dryad acs limbs, sky riser with a set of sky limbs both very nice.
I have a Vpa vapor 13" riser with centaur XL ilf limbs 50@28". I must say I have never liked a bow this much. I just had Jim build me another set of ilf limbs in the same weight for back up for a hunting trip I'm taking in November. Jim is a super nice guy!
Wow, what a bunch of different stuff. I guess that's one of the good things about ILF.....anything goes...lol! I still need to find the right set of longbow limbs. Are all longbow limbs longs??
sky crossfire for me. spigarelli zt rest shibuya plunger 12 inch bstinger stab and I string walk it. It shoots way better than I can. The tunability on it is really nice for getting broadheads flying perfect.
Zipper 13" Extreme and Dryad/ACS 4G longbow limbs.
I've got a 15" dryad,+15 riser, with samick universal, wood/glass, short, recurve limbs, that I sanded on a tad and painted. The combination makes for a 56" bow, with a generous portion of preload, which works well with my 26" draw. Nothing fancy, but I don't require fancy.
Ron used a few dif combos all work good what ive found is that the ilf rigs seem to like a stiff arrow for some reason Thanks Shane
longrifle, winex is a top end limb made by winn&winn
Ron check Dryad's site for the acs longbow limbs, medium, long, and extra long.
I recently picked up a 17" morrison metal genII and my first attempt at limbs was a fail. I bought a pair of long blackmax recurve 50lbs and they ended up scaling out at 67lbs at my DL of 29". Could anybody give me advice, I am looking for a limb weight of around 50 lbs.
I have original 17" Titan with Uukha XO limbs and Titan III with Uukha Ex1 limbs they are the nicest shooting bows that I have ever owned,
Centex, It sounds like you got the Gen 2 short draw riser, that is for 26" max draw. At your draw your not going to be happy at all.
Bob
I have a Hoyt Excel riser and TT short Blk Max 50lb limbs. Very happy with the bow....Dave
I shoot a trad tech with 40lb and 55lb limbs. Lately I put dryad 55lb recurve limbs on a gamemaster 2.I love the handle and shoot it well. The only problem is stringing it. Have to be cautious.
Have three.
Titan III with 45# BF Extreme limbs and shoot with a furniture pad and TRAP feather rest.
A 17" Morrison wood riser with 45# BF Extreme limbs shot off the shelf.
A Bear Black Bear warf with 35# Black Max limbs for light target work.
One of my rigs is a best zenit 24" with carbon limbs and the other is a black bear warf. I can't say enough about kaya limbs.

All very, very nice bows but have to say I am partial to the Zipper.
Hi all, new to the forum but have been a solid lurker on here throughout the years. Thanks to everyone for their contributions on their ILF experiences as it really helps! I have been exhaustively researching as I will have a Bezaleel Bow Works ziricote 15" ILF riser on the way... hopefully within a few months!
Builder, how do you like the Zipper limbs? I have been looking at them and am curious if you ever tried the Zipper Hunter series ILF limbs (glass/wood) as well. Hope to not offend anyone about speed comparisons, but have you run the Zipper carbon/foam limbs through the chrono? Just would like to have some framework because I am attracted to the price point of the Hunter series limbs but could definitely be convinced to getting the carbon/foam limbs...
thanks!
Have not run them through a Chrono.
I've had wood glass, Carbon wood glass, and one other set of Carbon foam limbs.
Also had a set of the ACS-CX, nice limbs.
I just really like the Zipper Carbon Foam feel, they are incredibly smooth to the draw.
I can't tell by watching the arrow if they are slower than the ACS or not which were the quickest I had owned. The arrow penetration into the target also is about identical.
They are near identical in weight.
Good luck, lots of great options.
Funny Katman, I thought the same thing when I read that. Not cheap at all. I have my original wines limbs from David Sousa, they are nice and bulletproof, but no comparison to my borders.
Thanks for the insight on the Zipper limbs, Builder. I guess that is the issue... there are so many good options! I may just bite the bullet and get the Hunter series and then later decide I want to upgrade to carbon/foam limbs. Worst case scenario is I have a bomber set of no-fuss limbs.
Getting excited! Just put down my deposit on the Bezaleel riser!
Had a Pinnacle II for a while with Black max limbs..also have a warfed Bear and Proline Riser with those limbs
For airline travel & turkey blinds this year, I was using my Morrison ILFmetal 13" Gen 3 riser & early Dryad epic recurve limbs to make a 56" 45# blind bow...two birds down. I was with Bill Dunn this weekend @ TN Classic and having Bill make me a set of 45# 56" longbow limbs for my 13" Zipper Extreme ILF riser...tippit

Tippit, are they going to be the newest Zipper Evolution Z4 limbs?
Titan III with 40# and 45# long Black Max carbon limbs. With my draw and limbs turned down until bushings contact riser, I am getting 48# and 53# of actual draw weight. Shooting full length shafts. G/T Kinetics .500 with 125 tip on the 40# limbs and Easton Aftermath .400 with 125 tips on the 45# limbs.
At some point I am thinking of trading the 40# limbs for a set of 35# and use them indoors over the winter.
Titan 1,in the Satin Black. Black Max Carbon limbs coming in at just under 45#. A very nice outfit with lots of options. Just took some Das limbs and installed some ILF bushings, they are in the Lost Camo and look real nice with the black riser.
Good Shooting,
Craig

My set up is a Titan II with there 50# BF limbs. IT is making me a convert. They are so versatile and accurate.
Neat stuff.....what a mix of gear.
I swap back and forth between a Pronghorn longbow and a Morrison ILF with TT BM carbon limbs. The Morrison is a good shooting bow and can be seen in my profile photo.
I know this post is a little old but here is my set up. Also shooting the TT Titan I blackmax Carbon extremes 45#, but it pulls 50# at 28" for me. Anyone else notice that the limbs sing a note after each shot? Can't get the hum out of my shot no matter what I do. I've read all of the other forums on here. Doesn't seem to be much to do about it.
Two Morrison 13 inch wood risers w/2 sets of Bob's carbon foam recurve limbs. One set of mediums that make a 56 inch bow and 58# at 28" and one set of "D" limbs that make a 58" bow and 60# at 28". Both are excellent and shoot even better.
I forgot all about this post......I still have my Zippers, just got a Dryad 19" riser to play with. I also picked up a beater TT Recon left hand riser 15" to work my other side. My wife is still shooting the 14" Morrison and doing well with it, TT limbs, 25# @ 25". I killed a nice bear last spring on Bear Quest #9 with my Zipper with the Dryad limbs, 45# @ 29".
