Mailman came a couple weeks back with a neat little box for me from Bill and Tracy at Zipper. I'm lucky enough to have them in bear camp this spring, and with my curiosity about their bows, I thought it was a good a time as any to get on the build list.
Double sided carbon limbs with B&W ebony tips. B&W ebony riser with an awesome dark flare (Madagascar ebony perhaps...Bill??). The bow is Bills SXT model at 58"s and is #58.
The first thing that struck me when I opened the box was how the riser was not nearly as bulky as I thought it would be. Quite small actually! The matte finish is awesome with no glare at all. Thin throat in the grip with a quite low wrist fit the bill.... no pun intended!
The bow was tuned from the 1st shot with my FMJ 400's. Quiet without any work and FAST....real fast!
The SXT is centre cut the same as my other bows so there was no issues with accuracy from the 1st shot.
I also have a matching quiver (not in the pics) and will be bear hunting with the new 3 blade Bill has created. (which btw took 2 minutes to get hair popping sharp)
Now to deal with photobucket.

The thing you see on the riser is a good luck charm my daughter made me...

Nice looking bow Ryan.
Sweet looking bow. I shoot with a guy and his wife last year that both shot Zippers. Had a chance to try there's out and they shot very well. Smooth on the draw.
I find myself feeling some bow-lust. I don't experience that very often, but Bill Dunn is building some of the nicest bows (and best performing, too) that I've seen. This one is simply a beauty!
I know its not all about speed, but # for # those Zippers flat out SMOKE an arrow.
They aren't too bad looking either
Sweet, Zippers are my favorite bow.
Bill and Tracy are the Best
That's a real sharp looking bow. The carbon limbs go real well with that riser.

That is one gorgeous bow right there!
Beautiful bow! I was tempted to put in for one of those, but happened upon a Cheyenne on here a few weeks ago that I am very pleased with and going to try and stick it out for a bit and quit buying bows!
nice....
Yup...
You said it.
Sweet bow.
Mine looks a lot like yours except I have charcoal stained curly maple on the belly, carbon fiber on the back.
Same riser woods, just a little different configuration.
Just christened mine this week with a nice hog and a raccoon.
Beautiful, quiet, accurate, fast and smooth.
He will be building me another for a dear friend.
Ryan, You have the first set of carbon back and belly limbs. Well...The first set that have made it to a customer! These limbs are from the Evolution forms but with a different lay up. Its not only adding carbon to the belly. This version is called Evolution Z4.
These limbs are so stable laterally that I would be shocked if you could intentionally twist a limb. In fact if they are not cut out strait from the start.I don't believe they could be corrected.
Ryan, is correct. The nearly black wood is Madagascar Ebony.
Bill
Very beautiful bow! He makes excellent bows. I think I've shot one of every model he makes and boy do they great. Fast accurate and quiet. He has one that I've shot that I've been eyeing and would love to have.
Awesome looking bow Ryan!
Bill sure knows how to put them together :notworthy:
Best of luck with it brother!!!
I've got a riser ordered from Bill with some of that Black and White Ebony. Seeing his work on that wood in person blew me away.
That is a top shelf bow in a top shelf Trad Gangers hands. The outcome will speak for itself here shortly. Great looking bow Brother!
Great looking zipper...bill knows how show off wood and I really like the profiles of the sxt...mine is still in the stable and I plan ok keeping it that way
Thanks guys...it will look nice laying over a giant bruin. It'll perform I'm sure, just gotta do my part..

YOU MAKE ME SICK ! LOL What a beauty.I had an STX LB,Probably the fastest bow I ever shot,it was to heavy for me,but like alot of old girlfriends I loved her just the same.Yes I'm sure she will have some blood on her soon. All the best with her Ol buddy.
Steve,Bill will make you sone limbs of your perfect poundage ASAP.LOL
I gotta ask....are those static tip recurve limbs? Looks like they have pretty good hooks...... :dunno:
Ron...pretty sure they are not static tips. Bill?
Ryan....you lucky devil! Congrats buddy!
Very nice!
Awesome bow! Great wood combo. They just don't build ugly bows at Zipper.
Nice looking bow! :clapper:
