I carried this Liberty Chief Elite again this season.
Great Northern Ghost recurve and CE Heritage shafts with Zwickey Eskimos.
An older Howatt Hi speed 49# @ 28". Its real light and very fast.
Just about any old Bear.
I hunt with everything and anything. I hunt with recurves and longbows and for arrows I use cedar, aluminum, and carbon.
Mine is a Sentman 58#'r and use arrows I make, river cane, laminated, cedar or whatever else I can get ahold of.
I've been using a 54" Shrew Classic Hunter 61# @28 and will use that bow almost exclusively...hunting from a canoe along these jungle creeks, this bow is "perfect"...for me.
This year I'm using a Bear Grizzly (50#@28") with Easton Legacy Alum Arrows (2016) and 125G Razorcap broadheads.
I'll be using a 35 yr old recurve. Used allys with it last year. This year I am trying out some old fibreglass arrows with it for the h**l of it.
I'm hunting a Hill longbow. Checked "other" on the poll, as I didn't think that qualified for modern longbow.
Arrows are cedar, spined 67-68, with 145 gr Ace heads on them.
BW PSA 58" 46#@28
ThunderStorm se arrows
125 Gr razorcaps.
I'll be starting off the season with my 54# Pittsley Predator and Gold Tip arrows w/Snuffer BH. Then I'll most likely switch to my 60# Viper longbow and homemade cedar arrows w/Snuffer BH.
I'm shooting a 60" osage self bow with western diamond skin back, recurved static tips and pulls 56#@26". My arrows are sourwood shoots with turkey feathers and rhyolite or obsidian points. I also have a set of cedars with rawhide re-enforced self nocks and obsidian point. Pat
I am using 2 recurves. One is a Dale Sandford Winterwind 62" 46lbs @ 28" the other bow is a Hornes T/D Mountain Bow. 60" 51 lbs @ 28"

50# Hoyt Tiburon
56# RER Vortex

I had to vote for all the bows. :) They all get carbon arrows however. :D
64", 52#@28" ACS CX 3-PC T/D longbow
62", 48#@28" Crow Creek Black Feather 3-PC T/D longbow
Bill
That Liberty Cheif Elite that Denny has, is a real purty bow !
Before this year it was a Bear Grizzly w/ wood arrows by me
This year a Martin Mountineer w/ wood arrows by me still ;) and some 125 snuffers.
Kinda intresting about the carbon arrows in the poll, looks like lots of folks use them.

Jerald,
I suspect that is because the carbon arrows are tougher than either wood or aluminum arrows and they provide the added benefit of recovering from the effects of archer's paradox much quicker than wood or aluminum.

RER Arroyo 46@27 1916 Easton 100Gr 2 Magnus
RER Arroyo 54#s at my draw(28.5"s) and Heritage 150s with 175 up front. Shawn
Hoyt GM 57#, GT 55/75 200 on the working end
Mulberry selfbow and rivercane shafts with modified 160g grizzly heads to start. As soon as I am happy with my knapping, I'll mount some rock to them. Also maple self arrows in the wait.
As far as carbon being the toughest shaft....I'd put rivercane up against them anytime! I missed a bag target because of a bad release recently and tagged a steel post. Only thing that happened to the arrow was a blunted field point and some ruffled feathers. All other arrow materials that have hit these posts have been rendered useless......Terry
Home made Bamboo backed ipe 55# @27" cedar arrows with home made broadheads.
Osage selfbow, cane shafts, Doug Campbell Damcus trade points for elk and deer, obsidian heads for deer.
I'll vary between a metal risered black swan with carbon arrows and an Owl bow with self nock arrows and a few that are in between in terms of "tech"
I'm shooting a 50# Mahaska recurve with 650g cedars. Grizzly 160s.
I'm hunting 58# Acadian Tree Stick longbow. Easton Epic 400 with 250 grain heads, either Simmons Tiger Sharks or the Big Snuffer. Total weight is 575 grain.

I am amazed so many hunt with wood shafts. Combining both modern and self made wood they are just a few % points behind carbon. Tradition at it's finest!!!
