I found this short article in an old Field and Stream magazine while researching other stuff.
It's a story by Art Young about shooting his Dall's sheep in Alaska.
You might have to scroll a little when the page opens.

Nice read. Thanks for posting. Interesting how 80 yards back then was sort of a norm.
True they were probably a lot better at than we are but after reading "The Adventerous Bowman" by Pope and Young they shot a lot farther than 80 yards at game and they didn't hit everything they shot at either. They wounded a lot of game too.
Thanks for posting the link, I like reading history.
Great story Charlie  Thanks for posting :campfire:
Neat article Charlie, Thanks for sharing.
Great article THXS Charlie!
I love these old stories and the old timer's approach to storytelling. Thanks for posting this Charlie.
Very interesting and entertaining. 80 yards with his longbow that was most likely over 80 lb draw weight.
That is too cool.
nice read. I like how he headed towards the sheep, acting like a traveler.
Thanks for the link, I love reading the pioneers of our sport.
Thanks that made my morning!
Thanks for that strole alone the mountain. That was a great tale.
Thanks Charlie, great story. Just curious, do you know where he was hunting ?
All I know was that he was in Alaska... possibly the Kenai Peninsula.
It's hilarious that I asked as that's where I live lol ! I may try and look into that a bit. Thanks again.
Nice thank you!
