Hi Dennis, not too strong on traditional in the KC area.
Plenty of individuals though.
Most of the guys I know a remembers of the United Bowhunters of Mo. And Comptons.
UBM is not listed as traditional, by laws allow compounds, but more than 90 percent of the members shoot traditional.
A traditional /'Primitive event is MOJAM held in Marshal Mo.
Held the weekend of July 18.
Dennis, I am the current president of the United Bowhunters of Missouri and I encourage you to contact me or any of our members about our club. Go to www.unitedbowhunters.com (http://www.unitedbowhunters.com) to get my contact info and learn more about us.
I look forward to hearing from you!

I'm on the south side, overland park. Give me a shout if you ever want to shoot. 816.392.924six

Hey there! There are a few of us trad guys scattered around NW Missouri. I am about an hour or so from you, just north of St Joseph. Our club has a 3D shoot the 2nd Sunday of each month which should be about 1.5 hrs from you depending on what part of the city you live in now. There are usually several trad shooters at each event, and we have a good time competing. Check out our website and come join us sometime if you have a chance. http://www.nodahobowhunters.com/
The boy scout camp, Camp Geiger, is having a 3d shoot the fourth Sunday of May, July, Aug and Sep. It's open to all archery, but I know that there will be trad shooters there! It is on the north side of St. Joseph.

I'm just north of St. Joseph in case you ever make it up this way. Make sure you go to MOJAM, you'll have fun. :archer2:
Dennis, Prairie Traditional is having a shoot the 24th of May. They always have great shoots as does Three Trails. The first of June there will be an all trad shoot in Topeka which is only about 60 miles from KC and will have overnight camping. There are a lot of Trad shooters in the area, but all don't belong to clubs.
X2 for the PTA shoot and the Topeka shoot.
Both Prairie Traditional Archery Club and T.H.E. Club in Topeka have websites with schedules.
Oh we're here alright.
Former range captain for T.H.E. Archery Club here and the rendezvous at our club in June is worth traveling to. You'd even get to hang out with local celebs like Paul :goldtooth:
Local "celeb"...?
Is that a new term for Goofy Old F##t ? :saywhat:
The THE Trad rendezvous is a fun weekend Stickum and folks come from all around .
Mojam is also a good time and draws people from all over the country to build selfbows and do some fun shooting too.
Paul, don't make me laugh. I got two toms working this way at the moment and the thunder won't shroud my laughter.
Dennis, PM me your number and we can exchange info if you ever head this way!!
OOOPS, good luck Brian.
(I'll be vewy vewy quiet...) ;)
Here at work :(
I live on the Missouri side of KC. I think there are a coupe of clubs here and one in Topeka that has a couple of trad shoots. There is a free range off of Santa Fe and Moonlight just outside of Olathe and one in the James A Reed conservation area in Lees Summit that I shoot at times...
United Bowhunters of Mo also has the rendezvous the last weekend of June at Marshall where Mojam is held. It's a good time. There are a lot of trad shooters around KC including some Compton officers.
Whatcha talkin bout Willis?
Three Trails Traditional Archery Shoot is May 25th. This is the scoring shoot. It is listed under the Events tab on this site. Call me if you need directions 816-682-4293. Hope to see yall there. TommyBoy.
SAINTS BE PRAISED...I thought I was living in the land of the heathen. Thanks for all responses, im looking forward to getting together and shooting with you guys. Got the bow out and started sneaking shots in the garage, now to find a good stump shooting location. I live by Raytown/Independence area now so I will check out that Lee Summit range.
