Welcome! If you shoot a longbow, you should check out the Michigan Longbow Association. They have their annual shoot coming up in a couple weeks.

Haha Fair enough! I prefer recurves myself, but I'm loving my new longbow. You may look at running over to the event (don't bring the recurve) and just hanging out. They typically have a spare longbow or two laying around that you can shoot the course with and there's all kinds of great guys hanging out. It's a great way to gain some knowledge and experience what the community of traditional bowhunters.

You'll definitely get that here too, but there's nothing like putting faces with familiar names.

Mike,

There are two other great traditional gatherings in Michigan.  Over in your area in mid June is the Compton's Traditional gathering at the Berrien Springs Sportsman's Club. 3 days of shooting, vendors, camping & cook-offs.

The last weekend in June is the Michigan Traditional Bowhunters Jamboree in Grayling at Hanson Hills ski area.  It is a 2 day event and has some great courses too.

Welcome,
D.P.

FYI, Compton is June 20-22 in Berrien Springs.  I will be there, great guys, courses, seminars and lots of vendors to check out gear and test shoot bows.   www.comptontraditionalbowhunters.com (http://www.comptontraditionalbowhunters.com)
