Title: Bear Minuteman
Post by: DuffyRP on April 22, 2014, 02:10:00 PM
I was recently given an early 1970's model Bear Minuteman bow. After cleaning it up I found it to be in pretty good shape with the exception of the upper limb tip.  The wood laminations at the very tip, and I mean the first 1/32 of an inch, looks as though it has rotted away. It does not look like it is delaminating and it is about an inch away from the string nock. I can not find replacement limbs anywhere and I am worried about stringing it up in it's current state. Do I need to worry about it? Is there something that can be done to repair it? Please help.

I would sand it back and put a coat of super glue on it. Should be fine. I scored one of those on Craigslist for $20. The plan was to give it to my nephew for helping me build a shed but I'm going to have a hard time parting with it!

Sounds like a pretty good idea. A few pictures would probably help.
