I grew up watching Dad shoot this Bear a kodiak Hunter which he bought shortly after he got home from Vietnam and mustered out. Awhile back he gave it to me and I was a bit apprehensive about stringing it up. Well, Grim_Slim made a string for me and this afternoon I shot this old friend after a thirty year hiatus :) thanks for those that persuaded me to do it and Grim_Slim for the great string ;) . Thanks a lot...... It sure was nice shooting that now again..... I think eventually I'm gonna have it refinished so it's real nice for my grandson when he grows up ;)
Good move! Bows are meant to be shot!

SWEET! I'm glad it worked out for you. Happy Shooting!
That's Great. Love the older bear bows!!!! the fact it was your fathers makes it even more special.
I am happy you decided to string it up and not just wonder forever what it was capable of.

After about 30 years, I imagine she was about ready to step out for a while.
Good deal! Looks great.
Nice looking bow :clapper:
Shooting an old bow is great, shooting dad's old bow is the icing on the cake !
Next time please, take more pictures.
Way to go. Old and new memories combined!

Thanks ;) It was a lot of fun. Last time I shot the bow was when I was 14..... Brought back a lot of good memories. This bow has never taken game that I know of. I intend to change that.
