Title: Thin damascus shooting glove
Post by: aim small...release on April 16, 2014, 09:02:00 PM
Was thinking about getting one of these. What is everyones thought on this glove. I like the thin feel. My problem with most gloves is that they are to thick. Ive been shooting a tab but want to go back to glove. Thanks for any advice

It's all I've ever used with bows from45-65#. They're not that expensive either, so if you don't like it then you won't be out a lot of money.

It's all I have ever used too. I've tried thicker gloves but like the Damascus been using the same one for ten years now. They hold up well.

My go to glove.
I'm trying a tab right now just to change things up a bit. Damascus has been my choice for a few years now.
The one turn off I have is the first one I bought 3 yrs ago was perfect thin but not ridiculously thin. Great feel and just the right amount of protection. Before last season I ordered a new one from 3 rivers and was very disappointed . It was very thin and cheap feeling almost like vinyl it was lighter in color too.
I still used it but I liked my old one better but now that has a hole in it. And my new one does not seem like it will last as long as my first one.
Nice thing is they are cheap so buying one every yr or every other yr. is no big deal.
And I seem to shoot my best with my Damascus. I shoot off the tips of my fingers instead of out of the first joint. I start off my draw in the first joints but as I draw I roll, the string up to the balls or tips of my fingers.    :jumper:

I have used a Damascus glove for many, many years. I still use one, but like Mr. fingers, I have also noticed the change they made a few years ago. They made a thin glove a good bit thinner and I find that I tend to wear small holes in the glove in less than a year of regular use. While I reserve the right to continue using one, I think I am going to give the Berlin glove a try, in the near future. I fear the change in the Damascus glove was not one for the better, in my personal experience.

I used them some years back. I also like to feel the string. I had two issues with them, they stretched in the hot weather (hands sweat) and they wore out to fast. I was using about two a year. I went to American Leathers for glove and Black Widow tabs.

Damascus glove for me too. I really like the feel of a thin glove. I do have a deer skin glove which is also nice, but a tad thicker.

Love the string feel with these.  Seem to last decent for a year of shooting, keep the fingers supple with some type of leather care to prevent grooving

That's all my wife and I shoot with also.  Most of my bows are 52-58#s, and I like the feel they give.
