Opening weekend and I managed to get this longbeard to do the Kentucky Dash and Flop. I'm working on a tribute for TBM on my old friend and hunting buddy Jerry Simmons. To kick off the thought process I tipped one of my arrows with a broadhead Jerry gave me. Even though I'm on the VPA pro staff I thought it only fitting to use one of Jerry's heads today. Brought me luck:)

Very nice!
Congrats Gary.
Excellent...congrats...
A more competent hunter and archer, in my position yesterday, would have easily scored on two occasions yesterday....both times the gobs were mounted on the DSD Breeding Hen.
Another beautiful picture Gary! Congratulations on another fine turkey!
Bernie
Nice tom and beautiful picture.
The gobbler is a two year old. Doesn't have the spurs that the last few birds have had but was sporting a paintbrush of a beard.
Nice!

Congrats Gary on a fine bird! Im really looking forward to your tribute of Mr. Simmons. Over the years I have scooped up every article and book I could find on him.
Nice turkey Gary and what a great job capturing a successful hunt on such a beautiful day.
Is that a Simmons bushmaster quiver in the pic Gary? Nice bird, congrats.
Yes, that's a Bushmaster. I have 6 or 7 of them. Over the years Jerry sent me different sizes to accommodate various arrow lengths, and for members of my family.
Way to go!
Congrats!

Bill
Nice Bird Gary, congrats!
I haven't had any luck yet, worked a couple of toms last weekend, but couldn't close the deal. Will keep trying.
BTW is your bow a Zipper? What model and weight is it?
Harry
The bow in the photo is a Tall Tines made for me by Brian Wessel. It's 58 pounds at my 31" draw. Riser is Brazilian Rosewood and the limbs are myrtle. It'd my "lucky bow". I had Brian inlay an arrowhead shaped piece of antler that came from the last buck my Dad took with a bow. He passed away last year after a long illness.
Gary,
First, I want to say how sorry I am for the loss of your Father. It's never easy to say goodby to our parents. Both my Mom and Dad are gone now for many years. But what a nice memorial of your Father with that antler inlay from his last Buck! I am sure he is right there for you whenever you take that bow to the woods!
Brian sure makes a nice bow. Its obviously Your Favorite. Again, congrats on a really nice Turkey.
BTW I like that photo so much, I put it up as my screen saver on my office computer!
Harry Leidy
Way to go Gary, and I love the "camo" !
