Is it possible to have an arrow that is so under spined that it gives a false reading of being over spined. I was out bare shafting yesterday and the more point weight I added to my AD shafts the farther left they shot. As I decreased my point weight though they started getting closer to my fletched arrows but I couldn't get them all the way in because I don't have points that light. This has really got me confused.
Tapered carbons can be hard to bareshaft sometimes.I think a lot can depend on the how the riser is cut.I bought some used parallel carbons and were showing alittle stiff. So I thought I could add more front end weight to weaken the spine. They got worse and showing even stiffer the more weight I added.I did tune the same spine carbon arrow to that bow,but started with a full length and they ended up about 1&1/2 inches longer then the used ones I had bought.Carbon recover and act differently on some bows. This was on a longbow that was cut about a 1/8" off center.Might have worked out if it was a recurve cut past center. But I have found a tapered carbon can give you alittle trouble bareshafting. Some don't recommend to bareshaft a tapered carbon.
The thing I am thinking is I might be getting a false reading. I am going to go out tomorrow and shoot with some broadheads and see if I can come up with anything as well as bare shafting.
James, add a small build-up to window which will stiffen dynamic spine, that should tell you if its false stiff since you can't lower point weight any more.
