I've just been through a surreal purchasing experience here on Trad Gang. I live in Canada. It costs more to ship things here. I know that. I expect that. There's also the customs form to be completed - added hassle for the shipper.
So I've very recently made a purchase and within minutes of paying the total I get a partial refund notice from PayPal. The person on the other side of the transaction has decided the shipping is out of line and is contributing (significantly!) out of his own pocket!
I can tend to be on the grumpy side. Seeing a bit of garbage in the ditch has me pretty quick to write off the current generation as a waste of skin taking up space on what would otherwise be a wonderful planet. And then something like the above happens. Generosity from a total stranger a fifth of the way around the world.
Perhaps the world's not such a bad place? Maybe I should spend all my time here at Trad Gang?
Thanks for lending your ears.
Cheers, Greg
Welcome to TradGang. !!! Some pretty good people around here.

Pretty common behavior here. Good people make up this site!
I would agree Davey!
People here seem to go out of their way to be generous. It's a breath of fresh air.
Trad Gangers are the best, that's for sure.
What I do when I ship to Canada is I mark the customs form as returned warranty work and put down a real cheap price for the item....
Hey Greg, over the years I've done alot of buying, selling and trading here on Tradgang. There are no,I repeat NO better people on earth than here.I've made many great friends and had many great times .This site will always hold a special place for me.The information alone given freely by all is beyond belief.
Good stuff!

:wavey:
I can easily believe it.
I once sold a bow on the classifieds here, and the buyer added money to the asking price, because he felt it was worth more than I had asked.
One heck of a nice man whomever he may be!
That's what it's all about and also all of my expierences I have had here on grad gang A1!!!
Yeah. I can believe it. :archer:
I always give people the benefit of the doubt. Till they prove me wrong. I see you are new here. But that type of thing goes on here often.
Nice gesture from whomever that was. That was very nice!!
Very generous group for sure!!!
I was looking for some shafts for footing my carbons I had two guys send me shafting and did not want nothing in return. Im looking for a chance to reciprocate their kindness.
You will also find this forum refreshing in the aspect that there is no heated arguments just friendly debates. And the support and help is overwhelming.
As someone who almost threw in the traditional towel. After a rough season of failed opportunities. These guys would not allow it. They opened up shared there failures and encouraged me not to give up. And I am glad they did.
Welcome to Tad Gamg!! :campfire:
Very nice, Welcome

I have been involved in numerous hobbies as well as organizations....nothing compares to the individuals in the trad community.
One of, if not the biggest reason I became a contributing member.
You guys are the best.

That's normal here and why I trust strangers still. Who else would do that or you feel comfortable send hundreds of dollars to without knowing them? Tradgang makes the world a better place, Eh!
Thank you for sharing good stuff.

So...A self professed grump!...I knew you were one of us!...
Love it! Encouraging to say the least. Comes around goes around I say.
All the best to my Trad Gang brothers and thank you for all the straight up, honest transactions I've had over the years!
Kind Regards -
Kris
