Just had to share, I did 1 coat of gasket laquer over the entire shaft, then the cap dip (white gasket laquer). I did the crest between the white cap dip and the purple stain to finish it off. Next we did the marbling- after the marbling I coated the cap dip, marbling, and crest with polycrylic and let dry. Did the next 2 coats of gasket laquer this am, and got no runs or smears in the marbling or crest. I am very happy with the results.
all this being said, I am switching over to Profin on my future arrows!

I love that look on arrows. I've tried it a bunch of times and 95% of the time it don't come out right. Seems like you have the right knack. Great job!
So how do you do the marbling???
Looks Great!

Those look sweet!!! Nice job
Really cool.
Most of us have had problems with GL cracking and stopped using it. You ever had any problems with the stuff?
^ yes, it does not "water proof" the shafts very well, and when the coats get too built up the stuff does crack. like I said, I am switching to ProFin.
These shafts are for my wife, she generally isn't as harsh as I am with my arrows. :D
the Gasket Lacquer is easy and fast, but clearly not the best.
There are many how too's on marbling, basicaly get a small vase that is filled with water deep enough to dip the arrow cap into. drop 4-8 drops of enamel paint on the surface and drag them around lightly with the point of a toothpick or an exacto blade. Dip and spin the shafts into the water and paint and pull out. let dry. EZPZ.
