Love my Sas SS that Kirk built for me last fall. Beautiful Macassar Ebony riser with Bocate fang and mosaic accents.
58", 57 lbs at 28" (I pull a tad over 29") with carbon and maple limbs. Fantastic grip - Kirk nailed it!
Super fast and smooth!
After shooting it through the Winter (as weather would allow), I noticed some whitish "marks" show up on the riser. Nothing major, and only visible under direct light, I was still confused by what was causing these marks.
I called Kirk and he said to send the entire bow back so he could examine (in fact, he insisted for me to send it back). Turns out that these white marks were what he referred to as checking. He totally refinished the bow (now using Thunderbird on his bows instead of the Krystal product).
I just received her back yesterday and must say that I am impressed, once again.
Some may feel that a warranty repair is indicative of the quality of the workmanship of the bowyer. In this case, I found Kirk as friendly and easy to work with as he was when he was originally building my bow. His insistence to make things right was comforting and greatly appreciated.
Well done, Kirk! You're a class act!
No one has a finer work ethic. Kirk is the best!!!
God bless, Steve
Kirk also refinished my entire bow, just because he had switched to the thunderbird, how great is that, and your right it is just his nature to do it right.
It is really great to here someone standing behind there product 100%, does not surprise me at all with Kirk. None better that I have found.
I am anxiously awaiting the build on my SS, as well as the new Stealth longbow coming out soon. Keep tuned for the build.
After a year my Sassy Lady (Sasquatch long bow) still feels and looks like the very last bow I'll ever own!(or shoot enjoyably)
Standing behind one's work puts you in front of the bullet on many occasions, and not everyone's "complaints" are reasonable and valid, but Ole Kirk takes them in stride and does what's right, not what works best for him.
I like that level of ethic in a man and especially in a bowyer/Craftsman!
That's good service.
