I just had the pleasure of having an extensive talk with Mike of Treadway bows at the Kentucky Tradfest yesterday. What a knowledgeable and super nice man. Shot several of his bows and can honestly say every bow I had in my hand was smooth, fast and quiet. No hand shock whatsoever. Fantastic bows, every one of them. I wound up not taking one of them home with me, which was hard to pass up. Instead I ordered one, a 3 piece longbow, 60 " at 46#@28. Had a great time at the shoot also.
I got to ogle a Black Swamp model and see it in action at a 3D shoot yesterday. Beautiful phenolic riser bow with absolutely superb workmanship. Whisper quiet too while standing only feet away and very fast shooter. I will definitely be keeping Treadway on the radar.
It doesn't get much better than Mike Treadway. I bought my first longbow from Mike in 1999 and killed my first trad deer the next fall. My Treadway longbow was the next to the last of Mike's old style longbow before he started making his newer styles. They are all excellent bows from an excellent bowyer and great person.
Mike is a tinker, he is always thinking about improving his products. I know he has design patents on takedown systems. I shot one last month at our monthly shoot. It was a takedown model. First shot from someone else's bow, 1/2 inch from perfect. Maggie did not let me shoot twice from advice from her husband. I am still looking for a pack able bow for Elk and cannot rule out Mike's bows. There are also one of yah most durable bows made. I can quote Mike " you can ass around with the bow and not worry about it breaking"
I have yet to shoot one of his bows I do not like.
Everyone I know who has met him, echo's what has been said about Mike as a person and Bowyer.
I'm always looking for one of Mike Treadway's bows in my specs... I guess not many oompahloompahs wanna part with theirs.
He is one of the real good ones.......and he make a nice bow also!
I have two Black Swamp bows and can't imagine a hybrid bow shooting any better! I have a friend who just picked one up at the KY TradFest and it is a two piece TD. The TD system is similar to the system Black Widow uses and you can't tell it is a TD. Fantastic work by a really good guy.
Mike Treadway is a great guy and a great bowyer.
Top shelf all the way, class act. have had 2 of his bows and if I were still shooting longbows I would still have them.
His bows are just excellent. Workmanship is flawless.
I have a black swamp I bought used, one of the best bows I have owned. The bow is just beautiful and shoots just great.
Just got back from the Tradfest myself. I've had two of Mike's Black Forest bows and killed my first big buck with one. I'm currently shooting the 3-piece Black Rock and it is a fantastic bow, quiet and quick. I got to shoot the new 2piece Black Swamp bow while I was there and really liked it so I'm on the list for one. A lot of us around here shoot Mikes bows and love them. There is always something in the wood that makes them a little unique. Mike is a great guy and a gifted bowyer and if you've never shot one of his bows you ought to try one.
I can't believe I didn't see the two piece! I looked at them and never noticed, probably for the better!
Great bows. Nice fellow.
How do you get ahold of him? I cant find much info about him.

Mike Treadway's number is (828)683-8728. He builds one heck of a bow for the price.
Bill
Mike is one of the good guys. Same person every time you meet him. I'd love to own one of his super fancy bows with the hand rubbed finish, arrow inlays, etc. but I'd be afraid to use it. The most beautiful and unique bow I've ever seen.
I have been to Mike's shop. What a great guy! He also makes awesome longbows at a reasonable price. You cannot go wrong with one of Mike's bows!
Yep, Mike is "Top notch". I'd love to have one of his take-down recurves.
LBR, that is the one I ordered. One of the most beautiful bows I ever laid eyes on.
Mike shoots at our monthly club shoots here in North Carolina and is one of the nicest gentlemen you will ever meet.
Top notch guy, met him at the TBOF shoot a few years back and bought his bow just because I liked him. That gives 'em good mojo, and killed two deer with it, and boughgt another. His bows are smooth drawing, quiet, no handshock, accurate, and reasonably fast, great hunting bows. Im a "Black Swamp" fan ! Mike is a grade "A" man himself. Would love to share a hunting campo with him one day.
When I first got into trad my buddy let me take one home and shoot it. Ordered one last year for deer season here in FL sight unseen. Received a beautiful canarywood 60" 45@28. Went to the TBOF shoot this past March and brought home a 62" 42@28 New Guena oak with carbon fiber on the belly. I haven't shoot many bows but his are always a pleasure to shoot. Awesome guy that isn't afraid to share some knowledge.
