Ok so I am going to order me a JD Berry and I remember seeing a post of one on here it might have been (Mudds) but I thought that it looked awesome!!! If someone could direct me to that post I would appreciate it. If you happen to have a bow with white glass I sure would like to see it.
Thanks , Steve
Mudd's bow is in this thread, along with a bunch of other beautiful examples.

The Morningstar James built for me has a white belly trapped to a "D" shape, and Maple Burl lams on the back.

Anyone have that combo....

A couple of Hill Tembos with white glass bellys.
Ibshooter....
How do like your Tembo's ?
That's what I want next.
I figure Good enough for Mr. Hill good enough for me.
Look up 1958 Kodiak and 1962 Grizzly. Both fantastic bows with white glass.
Yep!! I'm definitely getting the white belly, it looks way cool. Thanks for sharing the pics and the post to mudds. Much appreciated

They shoot very well. The two white glass bows are older bows. The myrtle wood Tembo in the picture is a late 60's vintage made by John Shulz. It's unique in that it is a two bamboo lam construction, 50# draw weight, 69" long. What is surprising is that it is as smooth as any of my current 4 and 5 lam bows. It casts a 500 gr arrow like a heavier weight bow.

Thanks Burt that bows says it perfectly!!!! stinkn smart phones! :banghead:
I am a huge fan of 60's and 70's target bows. The wood combinations those guys used back then, topped with white glass was just incredible.
The Wilson Brothers made some incredible Black Widows during that period that were museum quality. Along with many, many others.
bsv,
May we have more pics and info on that "Sweet 66" please.
All Yew cores/lams?
Thanks,
Stump
If you are ever planning an Arctic hunt then white belly and back makes sense...I have seen a Kempf longbow that was made that way for a successful musk-ox hunt

Stumpbuster,Dave Johnson makes his bows with red cedar lams, this one is 50@28 with a laminated riser of Imbuia,Maple, and Braz.Rosewood, here is a couple more pics.

A reverse handled Hill with trapped limbs? :scared: :scared: :scared: My head is spinning. That is too cool.
I had a Ben pearson collegian bow I found right and refinished before giving to a kid. I loved the white Glass look.
Another Dave Johnson with red cedar lams. Great shooting bows.

I hate to be a copycat, but that may just be the configuration I will ask James to do for me when my number comes up. Very cool.

My favorite "white glassed" bow is my 1958 Kodiak.
The second photo was taken during the refinishing process.
White sure dose look clean.
Dose anyone have a White belly and Grey back..?
I'm getting this bow mostly for summer shoots , I have plenty of hunting bows. I think they look neat.
Dose anyone have a White belly and Grey back..?
I have a white belly and a hairy back; does that count?

Seriously Pat, if you tell James that you love a trapped belly......you'll get one!
"white belly and a hairy back" that's funny...James
James from JD Berry asked me to post these for him . This is his personal Morningstar

James, That's a great looking bow! When your ready for a new one, I'll buy that one from you.
Good looking dog also.
This has turned out to be a very cool thread, thanks for sharing the pics. By the way it was the trapped belly and clean lines of JDs bows that made me want one of his. While I have never shot one of them all of the comments here and other threads about his bows really has me excited. Im really looking forward to this bow.
Great picture..
And congrats on your fine shooting !
Well I do have a white belly and Grey top....Now back to bows.
Wish I could find some gray glass. Been trying now for a while. ..James
Gray back with a white belly would be pretty neat.
