My Father sent a package to me today.
When I opened it, I saw what he did with my first Bow killed deer.
He Used a Barn from my Grandfathers Old Dairy barn which no longer stands.

Wow. You must be a good son! Nice to have a father like that. Congrats! Looks great!!
Looks great Bud!
Way cool!!
Very nice
The heirloom barn board is a nice touch Charlie! You will enjoy glancing at "the days of yore" on those cold, wintry New York nights when your whiskers are white! The icing on the cake is that your father crafted it! That's 3 generations entwined on a tribute... Awesome!
That's very nice looking!
That is very nice. I really like the significance of the board and that your Dad made it for you. Great memories there.
Nearly every day I looked at the plaque my father made that holds the antlers from my first deer. I'm 52, and I look back fondly of the day I shot that buck. Dad was as proud as I was!
I'm sure you'll enjoy your trophy for many years, knowing your dad crafted it with love and pride.
That's great Charlie! Very nice!
That's awesome!

Very cool! That deer will forever be special and no matter how big your future bucks might be they will never take its place. Having a plaque made by your dad with wood from Grand dad's barn makes it oh so much better!
WOW Charlie! That is sooooo cool... My father never made anything like that... But then, he just made me... :dunno:
... mike ...
PS... Great photo too!
Outstanding....looking real good on the wall surrounded by all those old arrows and photos.
Very cool!!! Love the old barn wood touch.
That is a great looking plaque.
Simple and elegant.
Congrats!
Very cool!
I also like the bow rack next to it.
That is very touching! I'm happy for you Charlie!
A little tip charlie. If you want to turn the edges of that plaque gray & weathetred like the face of the board, google steel wool & vinegar stain. It works awesome. Just an fyi, plaque looks great the way it is too.
You have a very dad.
Thanks Brian, for the tip on how to grey out the edge on the barn board, may try it out on the next one I make. Maybe on my own next year now that I have the misses out of the way last year. That is misses as in none hits with the arrows.
Very special for many reasons ... Congrats
That is very nice Charlie
That's cool...
