Well spring turkey season just around the corner ,so I pick up my tag and it wasn't 5 minute's later I get a call from my brother up by Louisburg ks and said he got the new lease signed and its Turkey's heaven this year .They have gotten more rain and snow than we did up here and I think it made a difference .Now I have to do after are shoot this weekend is pack my new Savannah up with my calls nd the rest of my gear and I'm off for a week of turkey heaven. Good luck to all you turkey Hunter's this year and be safe!!!
I'm leaving for Kansas on Saturday, the anticipation is killing me. Good luck!!!
Good luck to you too ! Now that we are getting some rain it should be good year!
Good luck to you!
Turkey season has not gone well for me this year. The birds are not roosting as close as in the past and they are hard to find. I got one more chance next week though!

Picked my tags up Tuesday. Did a little scouting two weekends back and it seems the turkeys where I hunt are in a similar pattern to the deer this season- Hiding out.
Leaving at 3 am, 6 hours from now, I can't wait!!!
Just got back from Louisburg ks and hunted the public hunting at MaraisCygnes national wildlife refuge park see large number of deer and some large groups of Turkey's but all we could call close enough to shoot were young Jakes .We had set out just one feeding hen and a standing hen maybe should have run the funkey chicken and a few more feeding hens .Maybe that would have got the toms closer .But I know the tick were outrageous where we had our net blind setup the ground was moving there were so many. Thank God for the makers of permethrin spray not one tick on us or are gear. going out to a spot outside of town here at home and see if I'll have better luck! Never know hunting to home turf!
I'll be going hunting May 7 to 13 here in Wi. Our turkey population took a toll from the coldest winter on record. I have located a few birds and just have to make the best of it. Good luck to everyone.
We got out Saturday and hunted Cheney Wildlife Area. Too many hunters call the same birds. I think I may have a new strategy for that situation- setup, let everyone else do the calling and just use a lone breeder.
