Where are these guys? I haven't heard much from them lately. I always enjoy there no nonsense input on all things archery.Just curious. Paul
Do not know where they are but I just picked up a KB Widow formally of Denny SR. on here recently. Just seeing his name on the bow makes it a keeper!! :notworthy:
I almost picked up that KB, but it was a bit too short for me. Denny Sr had contacted me about a trade for a PLGA I have - I did buy my PLX from him a year earlier.
Talked a little bit with Jr. at the Trad Expo in Kalamazoo, Mich in late January. The family members are doing great. Horserod
Yeah,
I was hoping Denny would be on here more. I'm a big fan of his writing I was following all his articles in Bow &Arrow mag. That's how I heard of trad gang . And one of the reasons I joined. Kinda disappointed he's never on here. I like his work and learned a lot from his articles. :archer2:
I'm sure Denny is busy. He is one person who doesn't sit still very often, unless of course he is turkey hunting. Denny Sr. has been a huge help to me, especially when it comes to archery history. If a strange bow shows up all I have to do is call Denny Sr. and he can tell me all about it. Sr. lives about 8 miles west of me and Jr. lives about 15 miles north. I'll never forget the day Sr. walked in and gave me a jake he shot that morning. I don't think I've ever had game in the oven so quick and it tasted excellent.
Denny is a genuine, down to earth, good guy.
About 15 years ago my buddy was going to Africa for his honeymoon. He had a bunch of questions about selecting the right place to go for a trad hunter, gear suggestions, etc. He sent Denny an email asking a couple questions. Denny emailed him back and said "here is my address, come out and we can talk about it all". John (my buddy) called me and asked me if I wanted to tag along.
We hung with Denny for a couple hours and I was like a sponge absorbing everything him and john talked about. At the time I had only been a hunter for about 5 years where as both Denny and John were far more experienced. It was an amazing experience to learn and absorb everything they said.
On the way home all we talked about was how the world needs more people like him. He took 2 hours out of his time to invite 2 people he didn't know into his home to help us. Very few people in the world are that way. I cant say I know him well. heck, i was so interested in listening and learning i don't think i said 5 words when we were there. But I can say that not only did i learn about about hunting, gear, etc. I also seen first hand what it feels like to be on the receiving end of some one going the extra mile for someone else. Something I will never forget and always try to offer others when the opportunity presents itself. Everytime I see a picture of his, read an article or watch his videos I think about that trip. He could of just blew John's email off or given him a short quick answer, but instead opened up his schedule, house, etc to help 2 strangers. It just doesn't get any better than that.
This is excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, we are still around. :) Life has been presenting some hurdles lately and doing my best to get over them. Don't have as much free time but still check in and see what's going on. Always appreciate the friendships and support here at TradGang.
Good to hear Denny.
