I'm looking to purchase a fanny/waist pack with shoulder straps. Can anyone give me recommendations?
I like a small pack for day hunting, and like the compact size of fanny/waist packs, but my body type makes them slide down my hips if I don't cinch them extremely tight, which is uncomfortable. I thought a set of shoulder straps would be the ticket.
I have a pack made by Wilderness Pack Specialties I use for most of my deer and elk hunting, but after a quick google search I'm not sure they still make that pack?
Oregon Pack Works makes one similar and they're a very well made product.

Look into " ribz" packs. I really like mine as all I need is at hand easily. Can still wear my big backpack, and shoot with it on
Check out Bison Gear. Ang will fix you up.
Badlands has a nice one.
I have one like that from Cabelas that I like.
Sent you a PM

Holy Cow, guess I am not that fasion camo conscious... or I cannot justify the price tags. For something like that I would hit the surplus store for an old army LBE and Butt Pack. anymore those should be closer to $30 for the full set. I am still using the one I got back in the 90s. Keep wanting to take the time to modify all the old metal buckles on it, but it has too much history for me, and that buttpack now resides on the sissy bar of my Harley
Saw an Allen brand one at Wally World, seemed ok.
Another vote for badlands.
Andrew I have a Cabela's fanny pack with the shoulder straps that you're welcome to use when we're down in SC. It's quite comfortable but I have a Camelbak with hydration bladder that I use when I'm down there.
Cat quiver VI ... I am like you, I do not want a back country pack for day hunting but want to have room for my stuff and comfort with it on ... the cat quiver VI is all that. Lots of convenient side pockets for camera, calls , flash light ect and then back compartments to hold lots of other gear like food, rope, saw, first aid, knife ect ect ... I have had mine about four or five years and love it. Comfortable wide shoulder straps,a chest strap and comfortable waist belt ... and it is not too heavy like some other wool packs, my Cat quiver is fleece and keeps my gear dry.
Ended up ordering a Badlands Nano. It's small like I wanted, plus has two water bottle holders. While it does not have a shoulder harness setup, it does have attachment points for suspenders (though I may not need them with the smaller pack).
Thanks for all of the suggestions. Looking the different packs over, I found that most all models that had shoulder straps were bigger packs than I was looking for.
Another vote for the CatQuiver 6.
Good luck on your pig hunt.. Can't wait for the stories..

I had the nano ... I did not like it at all, very pulling on the hips for me, that's why I like the shoulder straps.
I have a Badlands Super fanny pack I may be putting on the classifieds soon.
I agree with the badlands super fanny, I have one and it works great. Good Luck
The Bucks Bag Western hunter is hard to beat--best I have had. Plenty of room and shoulder straps that can be removed if desired.
