Does any one have a picture of the talon longbow or the swift recurve built by Dave Paxton? I didn't find out about these bows until recently and am interested in them THANKS,in advance.
I had a couple of Dave's Talon longbows,I regret trading them. They did an interview on him and his longbows in Traditional Bowhunter many years back.I spent about 10 hrs. at his shop the day he was finishing up my first longbow from him.He showed me how to twist up the string for my bow.I got to shoot his bows while he was finishing up my bow that day.I miss it,I always have thoughts on bows I have traded and wish I could have them back.I don't see them come up for sale often but always on the lookout to get one!
Josh, I am the guy who wrote the bowyer interview article for TBM on Dave Paxton. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of the Swift recurve he built. I owned one but traded it a few months ago as the weight was just more than I can shoot comfortably now. It was a reproduction of the 59 Bear Kodiak but made of different woods in the limbs and riser--the bow Bear has recently reintroduced. Mine had black locust limbs under clear glass and bubinga riser.
Dave passed away a couple of years ago. He was a good friend of mine and I loved going out to his shop and talking bows and archery. He had been in archery about all of his life and knew so much about bows and how they work. He was also very knowledgeable of old time bow makers and their theories.
I do have a picture of my Talon longbow doing what it was made to do--hunt stuff!

Cool pic. was that an in state hog? I've always heard they are really hard to catch up with in WV.
No...Florida hog. I go every year down to Osceola Outfitters with some buddies. Most fun I have hunting. Not a high fence or preserve hunt--free range hogs and lots of 'em.
