I just shot a Savannah for the first time today. Question, at the limb tips, where the tip meets the limb glass. there is like a DIP in the glass at both ends. the limb glass is smooth just before the tip then it dips then into the build up for the limb tip. is this normal on this bow Mark

I don't know about all savannahs, but the one I had was like that. Didn't seem to hurt anything.

I wounder why they made it like that? I'll call them in the morning
Thanks

I read lots of great stuff about the Savannah and that was why I bought one. However I was very disappointed in the quality of my bow.
Don't get me wrong, I am not bagging Martin (the last thing I want to do is upset anybody) because they can get it right - the quality of build in my Vision is second to none - absolutely glories, and what a wonderful bow - alas the same cannot be said of my Savannah.
When It is in the strung position - if one glances along the curve produced by the limb - there is not a nice even symetrical arc. One limb is much worse than the other, but they both have square sections and undulations that can be easily seen - sort of like a mini crooked road to China!!
One does not have to be a rocket scientist to see that the problem is in the form or the mould.
At the time - being so disappointed - I wrote a thread on here and 'talked' to another Tradganger who had the same problem. He rang Martin and was told to contact his dealer, adn I think that ended in a dead end for him - so I think in the end he just did what I did - tried to forget about it and enjoy the bow.
However - in the interim - having acquired two customs (my Horne's Mountain longbow and Renegade Spirit ll), they are in a different world in the quality stakes - compared to my Savannah. Considering I had two hundred dollars change with the Renegade as a full custom with Cocobolo and bamboo - compared to the standard Savannah (that is to my door in Australia, with postage being the same)- I think there is much better quality to be had out there.
So if your bow has strange tips - then I am not surprised!!

Sounds like martin owes you a new bow if your description is correct. You need to talk to the right person. A Savannah is a great bow ,at least the one I had was.
