Just picked up a new to me all osage critter gitter special. I think I am in love. Anyway, bow is marked 58 inches in length but the string that came with it looked pretty short. I took it off and measured it from tip of loop to tip of loop when stretched out. It measured 53.5 inches! I would have thought it should be at least 55. Gonna order a new string anyway since this one is a little worn. Anyone have a 58 inch Critter Gitter and what is your string length. I think the recommended brace is 6 3/4 inches. Thanks!

55" would probably be the ticket. All the GN longbows I have had took a string 3 inches below bow length.I have had 2 Critter Gitters.I think 6 and 3/4 sounds close to perfect on the brace give or take a little bit.

Thanks Steelhead! I can't wait to get a string and shoot this beautiful bow. I love the lines on this bow and one look at the taper limbs and you know a master craftsman made it. Thanks!

Yaa,the precisely tapered lamitations, slender deep cored limbs and trappezoid cross section make for a very refined looking bow and fine shooter. The Critter Gitters are no longer being made so you have a nice piece of archery history thier.
