A friend of mine has indicated that there is a battery powered unit available. My unit did not have this so I don't know. Have you called the provider of your unit?

I never looked into it myself as I just can't adapt CPAP. Instead I lost 20 pounds, and that at least helps. I'm glad it works well for you.

My trailer has an inverter and runs my cpap machine fine.  You just have to know how much current or wattage your cpap draws, and make sure that your inverter is rated high enough to handle it.  I believe it should say on a label somewhere on the cpap machine how much current or wattage is required.  Volts X Amps = Watts, so if you have a 1 kw inverter, you can power something that requires up to 9 amps (1000 / 110 = 9.09).  If this is the battery in your truck that you need to get started in the morning, it is possible that running your cpap machine all night could run it down, so it would be handy if you knew someone who would give you a jump if you need it.

When I started using the cpap machine, I told them I did a lot of backpacking, and they said a battery powered version was available.  But they also said that once my body adjusted to it, I could go a week or so without using it with no ill effects, so I haven't bothered to find out about the battery powered version yet.

Ask your dentist about a TAP III appliance.
Your wives will thank you.

We own a primitive cabin in the Colorado mountains.  And I require a cpap. I use a 400 watt inverter and marine batteries. I charge my batteries with solar panels.  However, you could use your vehicle to and jumpers to charge the battery each day.

Wally Word sells inverters that plug into your cigarette lighter. If you wanted to make it portable you could cut the end off and add some alligator clips for a battery. Keep in mind that batteries will die much faster when placed directly on the ground. Placing a few sticks underneath would solve that.

I have been on several hunts with guys that use a CPAP machine. I'm so deaf that he machine, and usually their snoring if they did I not have the machine, does not bother me at all!

All the times my buddies have used them we have been staying in a bunkhouse that had electricity to ply the machine in.

I have a friend who hunted with his and used a 12 volt battery with a 750 watt inverter. He had a solar unit that he charged it with during the day. The solar unit was one of the small ones sold for recharging feeder batteries.

I've used the jump start battery outta my truck.  It'll last 2-3 nights if ya don't use the heater/humidifier.  The regular house cord on my unit converts 120vac to 12vdc.  Went to Radio Shack and they matched a plug end to a power cord.  Plug that into the 12vdc outlet on the jump start and away we go...

I bought an inverter with alligator clips for my particular model of CPAP machine and use a good deep cycle battery.  I can get over a week if I don't use the humidifier.  I used it last September in CO while elk hunting and never had to charge the battery.  Feel free to PM me if you'd like the web address for the company that sells the cpap accessories.  I had a generator there in case I needed to charge the battery.

It came in handy at home this winter also when we lost power for a couple of days.

I appreciate this thread.  I have wanted to get out to more shoots events and had pretty resigned myself to the fact that I would be staying at a motel/hotel.  Great Ideas!
