OK Just wodnering what everyone prefers for strign and serving material?
I'm currently usign BCY 8125 string and Halo serving.
I've been thinking of switching to the new 8190, or maybe BCY-X which has some vectran.
Anyone have any experience with the 8190?
I'm making my strings fairly low in strand count right now ... maybe 10-12 strands of 8125, so not cheesewire skinny but close.
Thanks

I have been using 8190 on a few of my bows,it is a small diameter per strand.I have used 12 strands of 8190 on my bows upto 55#.A 12 strand 8190 is about the same diameter as 10 strand 8125 and 8 strand D97.I find it a great string material, makes a quiet bow string.I will go to BCY-X when I run out of the 8190 I have now. They are the same SK 90 but the BCY-X has a blend of 17% Vectran, other then that they the same material. The blend of Vectran makes it even a better bowstring! And I do pad my loop ends to about 20 to 22 strands in the loop ends depending on which bow I'm making a string for.

8190 is really good, I like BCY-X a little better. I use 18-20 strands with the loops padded to 24.
