Cheetah. They are the best looking and shoot good.RC
I have to agree with RC. Love that Juniper. Also like Big 5s.

My two favorites also
Well I have only one A Big 5 so I guess that's it.
But my next one will be a Tembo Ambi no shelf's, maybe with the Carmelized Boo....
Cheetah and Redman for both looks and smooth shoting
I have a Cheetah that looks and shoots real good.
My favorite is my Half Breed, just love the look of yew!I did have a Big Five an few years ago that had a ebony riser with black glass and high gloss finish.I thought it looked fantastic, with the all black look!I also had a Cheetah with a cocobolo handle and cocobloa center lamination, modeled after one of his limited edition models except no silver inlay that looked pretty sweet too!I forgot the name of the model? They all shot great, just looked different with the woods.

Hunt hold. What. Models are you bows? Nice reverse handles. I was never going to buy another hill because of the trouble I have with a Wesley takedown Problebly. Won't. But they look nice
I would have to vote for my Cheetah, named "el Tigre" Not only does it look great with the juuniper lams, and cocobola riser, but it is one of the nicest shooting in terms of smoothness, cast, and accuracy, of the numerous Hill bows I have owned over the years.
I have 2 Cheetahs and 2 Wesley Specials. I like them equally but feel the 55# Cheetah may be a tad smoother. It sure looks good, too.
Nice looking reverse bows. I have never understood why the most accurate Hills are not pictured in the Hill brochure.

Tembo, black or brown glass, no "tips" or lams up the fade. 68" and backset...
Boo is durable on accidental dry fires when cold.
My Cheetah blank I had Craig build for me is my best shooter. I sized the straight grip and got the poundage exactly the way I wanted it. It's 65" long with an extra lamination of bamboo. She's faster, smoother, and has less hand shock than my Wesley. This bow is perfect for me with my 25 1/2" draw. Out of the 12 bows I own, it's also the lightest in physical weight at 1 1/4 lbs. Hold her steady, follow threw and she'll put em were your looking! Can't say enough good things about this bow. Brown glass back, clear belly to show off the beautiful juniper, and bubinga riser with a german silver medallion with my initials inlayed. Beautiful bow! Can't beat the Cheetah in my book!
I like my reverse grip Half Breed a lot but I think my Big 5 was a little smoother

Cheetah takedown, although I like my Wesley, too. I just love the juniper on the Cheetah.
Tembo...sheer shootability.
I recently became a HH Gang member. I got my second HH bow this week. Its a "Cheetah" 66" 54# @ 26". I'm hoping that I can get my 60-65# shafts w/160 gr pt to fly out of it.

If your draw is near that 26" mark that is stated on the bow, unless those arrows are fairly long they may be a bit stiff. I shoot 27" bop with 160s on 50-55s at that poundage.
Wow, I would think those arrows would be too weak pavan. I shoot 50-55, 26 3/8 bop and 125 grn points out of my HH's from my 48 lb Cheetah, 49-50 lb. Wesley, and my 51 lb. string follow Wesley, and they fly perfect out of all. Then again, these Hill bows are quite tolerant of spine. I would think the 60-65's with 160 grn would shoot ok. I can shoot 60-65 with 190 grn at said poundage's.{ The draw weights I stated are what the bows are at my draw length.} 160 grn points are too weak on my 50-55's. I have to go to a 55-60 spine for 160's. I think you'll be OK Crispin. Good choice of bow, and welcome aboard. Nice looking bow by the way! I like the riser wood. Is that cocobolo?
I have seen some get by with stiff arrows cut to minimum length, but I have seen much often that reduced spine gives tighter groups and a more forgiving arrow. A stiff arrow tends to slide on the shelf, while a more flexible arrow clears the shelf cleaner with a bit of s curve, which is a good thing with wood shafts.
The two on the left are my from the blanks Hills.

I agree pavan, I think for a 54 lb Hill, a 55-60 spine arrow with a 160 grn point would be about perfect. With the 60-65 being a little too stiff. Personally, I group woodies better toward the stiff side, rather than the weak. If they fly great and you can group them in a three in. circle at 20 yrds. then your good to go.

My 65" Cheetah while chasing pigs in South C.
I should have stated that I raise the spines five pounds with fast flights. That yew/bamboo of mine is 57.5 with b50 string and a bit stiffer with a fast flight, I shoot 1918s with 160s on a glue on insert. When I try 160s with the screw in adapter, the total weight goes up 22 grains and the spine goes down enough that it shoots them better with the three spline b50 string. I am a bit ornery about high brace heights.
I have a Wesley Sp. and an Owl.....like them both.

After having some difficulty getting my 60-65 spines to fly right, and determining that my draw length on Hill bows is 25", I decided to test some some 45-50 and 50-55. Well I was supprised that I got great flight shooting 45-50's. Steve from Surewood Shafts sent me some 48 spine arrows. I put some 160gr points & "wa la" perfect.
Glad you got your arrow spine/flight straightened out CHenry. Moving to Hill bows, and getting used to shooting woods that are spined at almost draw weight can seem foreign at first. Good luck and have fun!
Oh yeah....Wesley and Half Breed are my personal favorite Hill's, but of late my reverse handled JD Berry Morningstar has been seeing the most arrows across the shelf.
I've only got one too, so it has to be the Big5. Mine's 66", 60lb, bamboo, with grey glass face & back. I like it.
I have 9 Hill bows...3 which are actually Hill's. My favorite of the bunch is my 66" Big 5,50#@27"
