What do you guys like, dont like, or heard anything about. Are they good quality?
It's pretty hard to go wrong with a BW recurve. They have a time proven reputation for building bows that are smooth to draw, fast and very accurate. They can be a bit pricey so you might want to consider a used one to start with. There is usually at least one on the traditional bow classifieds! Best advice I can give you is don't get over bowed! These bows are very fast and efficient, so lighter draw weights are not a problem! Plus if you have a lighter draw weight you will tend to spend more time shooting! This is of course just my opinion for what ever it's worth. Hope this helps. Leonard.
Hey I have one and I love it. You won't be disappointed.

I have a 46@28 SA III and I love it. I agree with threeunder on the lighter weight. My 46#er is as fast and hits as hard as any 50+#er's I've ever shot. They are a little pricey but well worth it. It's an investment you'll never regret.

All I shoot anymore.
Best there is.
They are excellent built bows. The people at Black Widow are the same way. I can't see how any bow could be better in any way. **** usually has 10 or so everyday due to great resale value.
Black Widows and Landcruisers make the world go round, not to mention God.
I like mine a lot. It is my go to bow

I stopped looking for a quality, good shooting bow when I got my first widow. I own 3 PSA's in different weights and one PLV takedown. Got all the bows I need for the rest of my life and I don't even look at other bows anymore as I've found my true love. Frank
I have a PSAX recurve,TFV recurve and a PLX longbow--all 3 are great shooting bows
My go to bows, nobody has better customer service. How many custom bowyers have been around for 50 years?
I went there and no lie shot over 15 different styles of bows. I walked through the shop and even picked the woods for my bow. They are super nice. I know they got tried of me calling asking if it's ready yet. :D
I really like mine. I have other bows but this is my go to bow. It just shoots well and I like how forgiving it is. Also for hunting these reverse limbs have a lot of room for your hunting coat/sleeve. Oh, and they are nice looking too... IMHO.
Here is mine waiting in ambush for an Alaskan Caribou. Weather the next day was rain.. in fact it rained on me and my widow for 3 days. on the third day I made a 25 yard shot in a bulls heart as he was moving through some pines. I will always remember him coming out from behind that pine with my arrow in his heart.

Just try one and you'll love it! Mine shoots great, PSA 54#@28
Try before you buy.
I've only shot one a few times. I can't say anything bad about them but there was nothing that about it that would make me run out and buy one.
So much of shooting comes down to what just "feels right" and for some reason it just didn't have that feel for me.
I don't think you can go wrong with a widow. I've shot them for 11yrs and they are my bows of choice. I've got two now and my new one's put up. I found me a 46#er that is my favorite and even ordered my boy one just like it without the phenolic. They shoot where you look no dought about it. I've shot other bows that were nice and shot very well, but i'll stick with my widow untill i get my self bow made, then i can start all over again.LOL.
I just bought two of them, one for me and one for my daughter. At 14 yrs old I'll gladly buy her a Widow if that's what she's interesed in!

you'll never go wrong with a black widow! In my opinion with all the bowyers out there today, only a small handfull make a great bow. A good friend of mine once said, " a bow not only has to look good, it has to shoot good" I have found this standard to be extremely true through the years, and yes only a few do.
amazing bows!!
this summer i shot psax recurve for the first time, it was 64lb at my draw, it had no silencers on it, it had absolutley no shock, and i could barely hear it in the indoor range!!!
smoked a 600 grain arrow!!
you cant go wrong with a black widow
Great bows. I don't own one...kind of addicted to Shrews...but I have shot plenty of them, and have never shot one I didn't like. I'm sure I will own one of the short riser TD recurves one day.
I agree with Roger. I have owned several and to me the one-piece is their best bow, but great people and a quality product. Shawn
The takedown (to me) is the way to go. You have the option of any lenght bow at whatever weight the ocassion requires. I am VERY partial to the PSA/SA bows myself but in reality, any Widow is hard to beat.
For me, these are the best shooting bows. Not the quickest, not the quietest, but sure puts an arrow where I want it. I just traded for a PMAV and have a PSAV due in a couple weeks. I think the Ironwood bow is the nicest one out there. The exotics are awesome, but I love the Ironwood.
