Hello from Iowa. I mostly use training wheels but still like to shoot with my Groves, my self long bow, and a few other choice toys. I've managed to miss 4 deer with traditional equipment but still enjoy trying a couple times each year.
My main reason for joining here is because my Dad was an avid collector of longbows, take downs, recurves, etc and after he died last year I have a daunting task of trying to get some of these bows into the hands of people who will 1) use them and 2) appreciate them.
A couple friends told me that this site was a wealth of information and full of "good folk" so I will happily hang my hat here. I have a personal vendetta against Bowsite and ArcheryTalk so here I am. Maybe I can get some insight into my inability to hit deer with cedar arrows as well!

Quite a few trad folks around Iowa City. I live in Mt Pleasant but am a mail carrier in Iowa City.
Welcome!
Nice to have another Iowegian on board. To make that Grooves work for you, beyond making sure your arrows are flying good, is to make it your only bow. I have a Grooves as well, I shoot mine with a cant pinch tab, it likes a wide variety of spines. I can either shoot my Grooves or my longbows, but I do better if I do not mix bows. There are things that are required in my shooting form to make either style bow to work for me, going back and forth confuses my concentration. I would imagine that mixing compound form with recurve form is just as challenging. My goal with any bow is to achieve what I call casual accuracy.
Welcome!
