What are you guys doing, I'm not heman and my pack is going to weight 40 to 70 pounds, the high end with meat in it.
Can't really strap my bow vertically as trad bows are to long, taking the pack off vertical if one is not careful could result in exotic firewood.
I was thinking horizontal on top under the lid of my pack. Any thoughts I'm going to be traversing some steep terrain.
Any pics??
Yeah, not a good idea to strap it strung to a heavy pack.
My 3 piece is easy to stow inside...only takes a couple minutes to string
I'm going to test this, this year: Unstrung. Use my stringer to loop in the bottom and top, and extra tie on's to go between the bow and bow string. So, if my bow stringer is the right length, I can sling my bow unstrung.
Not sure how I will like this, but, I'm going to experiment. Best idea I have to date.
I have a real problem strapping any one piece trad bow to a pack. Seems you are asking to get caught up in every branch, bush, rock and whatever that you pass. I personally would rather hand carry it.

I can see any safe way to strap on a one piece bow to a pack.
agreed.. if its a 1 piece your probably better off carrying it..

X2. You can still use one trecking pole in your other hand and navigate pretty much any terrain
Copy that, thanks for the input!!
Wish I had your problem.
