Hey guys, was thinking about switching to simmons broadheads seen alot of good reviews on them. Im shooting a 51lb LB at 28" any particular model you suggest? And are they easy to resharpen? Thanks for help in advance as always you guys are great.
I think they are great heads, and easy to sharpen. Do a search
Lots of great info available.

For sure excellent heads best thing to do if your sharpening challenged is go with Dave's steel master sharpener that's on his website...and get ready for some BIG BLOODTRAILS!!
Best thing since sliced bread! I have shot all of them except the tiger shark. Awesome flight. Even the tree shark, which just amazes me. I shoot the interceptor more than anything and absolutely love them.
A friend showed me pictures of a doe he took from a tree stand with one out of his black widow recurve. The exit whole looked like it was made by a hatchet! The doe went 20 yards and the blood trail was like a highway.I was impressed
Tiger Sharks
Thanks for posting this thread. I'm with you, Aim Small. Can't wait to read all these responses.
I run the tiger sharks as well.... There's a tutorial on y**t**e by Chris Spikes that walks you through the sharpening process.

I just picked up a bunch of land sharks for next fall. Rada wheelie seems to work great on them
I've sharpened tree, land and safari sharks. I used a belt sander to get rid of excess metal, then used a 6" file to finish. The file has no teeth on the sides to interfere with the inside curve. Theyre just like a razor. Ask Mudd about them.
I switched to the interceptors last year and shot 4 whitails with them. The results were impressive 2 died in sight one about 15ft from my stand after a double lung shot and the carnage left by the two that made it out of sight was impressive, a blind person could have found them. They are fairly easy to sharpen with a round chainsaw file and a round steel to finish them up.
We have had nothing but happy customers with Simmons heads
I made the switch and was a little skeptical about all the claims of such awesome bolood trails... esp from a two blade head. I was flat out WRONG. Nuff said. Landshark and inteceptors here but I am thinking about giving the tree shark a shot.
Anyone have any pics of kills with the simmons?
Last two deer I've taken were with the Tiger Shark. Both were dead within seconds. I like them! Plus big Dave is a heckuva nice guy!
I love the Shark broadheads. I've gotten four deer with them so far, three died in sight. I've used the Tree Shark and Tiger Shark.
I doubt I'll use anything else :)
Do a search of the post on broadhead wound pics. Not sure of the exact post but there are lots of Simmons pictures on there. I like the Interceptor, and Safari head best out of that weight. Of course I've been known to shoot the tree sharks and tigersharks as well. You can't go wrong.I can't imagine ever shooting anything else.
I'm a Intersepters and Safari fan here, love the holes they leave.
Here the link to the broadhead holes thread.

killed many deer, bucks and does and a bear. they fly perfectly and go right through, the Safari is my preferred head.
I shoot the tree sharks and they're devastating. I've killed a pig, three deer, and a bear with them and I've had excellent blood trails, perfect flight, and fantastic penetration. The bear I shot was climbing down a tree when I shot her. The arrow passed in just above her flank and exited through the sternum bone.
I just ordered mine for next season couldn't stand anymore of just looking at the wounds they produce on here. I want to experience it myself. btw ordered tree sharks. :bigsmyl:
My experience has been big holes and short trails
I shoot the 165 screw in non-vented sharks.
This will give you an idea of what the 165 grain landsharks are capable of.

Tiger shark for me too. Excellence in every since. They will work great with your setup !
Macksdad showed me a pic of a deers heart that was severed in half by a hungry shark. All of hi deer have died within sight since he switched!

Tried some 2" treesharks tonight. I mounted the glue ons onto a 36 gr aluminum adapter for a 205 gr total. Flies really well and left a 2 3/16" hole in my rubber horse mat back stop (i shot it on purpose to measure the hole).
I'm looking forward to shooting more this week
If you want pictures, go to their website. Not for the squeamish.

best broadhead i have ever used. Shot my first trad deer with a 190 grain tree shark , shot one shoulder and broke the shoulder on the other side. Ran 40 yards and nose dived.Use to shoot deer with muzzy and other heads and have never seen such terrifying holes, look like axe went through it.
