Whats the shortest red oak bow (bend thru the handle) you can you make (backed with linen or rawhide)?
Drawing 28?

I would not go shorter than 66".  Post on the Bowyer's Bench and you'll get more feedback.  (See the "Shoot On Over To:______" box below and to the right to get there.)

Depending on the board and your desired draw weight, you might be able to go as short as 56" if you're backing it. Shortest D bow I ever made from a board was 60" but it was only 40# at 28", so the whole thing was pretty thin.

Julie is currently working on a 60" red oak board bow. (In her spare time) this board will be backed with rawhide. Or linen if we can locate that first. Sorry should have added she only draws 24"
