Dear Bowhunter:
Winter weather will finally be letting up soon. Your cabin fever is mounting and turkey season still seems so far away. What is a hardcore bowhunter to do to get a bowhunting fix?
. . . We have the answer . . .
The 2014 Professional Bowhunters Society Biennial Gathering! We personally invite you to join your bowhunting brothers and sisters for this multi-day event at the end of March. This event is guaranteed to get your bowhunting juices flowing and help you start preparing for your adventures afield in the seasons to come.
We hope that you can join us at that Hyatt Regency in the heart of downtown Cincinnati. The day events will be held on Friday March 28th and Saturday, March 29th. The event will be action packed and sure to have something for all bowhunters. Here is some information about just a view of the featured seminars:
• Gene Wensel on the current state of bowhunting
• DIY Alligator hunting in Florida
• Hunting the archery only zones in North Carolina
• Moose hunting with Monty Browning
• Alternatives to Treestands
• Advanced shooting with Mike Fedora
• Blood tracking dogs
These are just a small sampling of the seminars and other activities available. There are also auctions, raffles, bowhunting related vendors, contests (bowyers, arrow crafting, photography), J.D. Chappell's amazing collection of Grayling-era Bear bows and Fred Bear items, ladies' events, and much, much more. It is an experience not to be missed.
Friday evening banquet special guest will be Scott Koelzer from Montana and Saturday evening banquet special guest will be Doug Borland from Alaska!
Evening banquets are by pre-registration only.
For more information visit the Professional Bowhunters Society website (http://www.probowsociety.net) or call us at 704-664-2534. You will be glad you came!
I've been looking forward to this for the past two years! See you there Mike!

Excellent! And a big thanks to Homer Ocean Charters for donating a Black Bear/Halibut trip for the auction. They are also giving any hunters that book with the auction winner a $300 discount on their trip.
There are some excellent raffles open to all with our Big 5 Bows and Pack of Dreams packages. I will get the information up on how to purchase tickets if you can't make the Gathering.
Oh, and I plan to be there EARLY!
Tracy and I will be there.
I just glued up the riser today for the SXT we are donating. Its Mekassar Ebony and Zebrawood. It will have carbon back, foam core limbs. It will also have an arrow inlayed in the Mekassar Ebony belly veneer.

The "pro" bow contest is going to be STIFF competition...I had to uncase the Rose Oak entry to make sure it made it thru the postal service OK. Heard the will be a pretty fancy Blacktail to beat as well. We have the coolest 2 PC take down St. Joe River bow in the mix among others. More coming I have not seen pro and amateur.
All this talk of contests, here is a picture of my arrow entries for all to see...

See you all there!

I'll be there Thursday early afternoon. Dave, just give me your arrows and I can bring them with me when I go down. That way you don't have to pay shipping
I'll be there. I have attended every gathering since the first one at Deer Creek Lodge in Ohio and have no intentions of missing one now!
I am flying in on Thursday, been looking forward to going since the last one in Portland two years ago.
I'm planning to go up for a few hours. I won't be attending the banquet though.
Although my wife will be having a serious procedure on Thursday. That may impact my plans to come by. I've never been to a PBS function.

That is a classy print Sean. Thank you!
I keep getting asked if it is too late to donate something for the gathering...it is
NEVER too late! Big or small; we have things from broadheads to boat black bear hunts in Alaska and spot and stalk in BC for prizes and auction along with some very nice limited PBS "stuff" up for auction.
Contact me if you want more details...time is getting short to register and get a room..
I am going!!! After chairing my own state bowhunting organization banquet (UBI) and paying major "honey do" tax these last couple of weeks, I got the green light from the boss lady. I will see you all there!!!
That Paluh print above was a cover on TBM a couple of years back. That MAY have to get a ride in my truck :)
(http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g13/dillbilly/Mugs006-Copy.jpg) (http://s52.photobucket.com/user/dillbilly/media/Mugs006-Copy.jpg.html)
The PBS 2014 Limited Edition Mug will be available at the banquet, and I suspect some of them might show up in the auction. Get yours!
I'll have some Zipper donation progress pictures this afternoon.
The riser is all roughed out. The quiver hood is shaped and ready for reinforcement. The limbs are glued. They came out of the forms last night at about 9 pm so they are ready to be cut out and tillered today.
Bill
As promised here are some in the works pictures. Keep in mind there is still a LOT of work to be done. Everything is just roughed in.

The more I hear about your boss, Mike, the more I seem to like her. Better not bring her with you.
:goldtooth:
Looking forward to seeing all our friends. We will be arriving in the area on Wednesday evening for the get together at Arnolds.
Duckbutt, outkicked my coverage!!! Will I get to see you there? Got a hunt plan I wanna discuss and it might have to do something with a water tank in NE :)
Bill Kissner, you just thought you were not going to see me around home. Might get to visit with you yet!
Hey Mike,
I didn't know you were coming. It will be good to see you again.
D.P.
My family and I will be in Cinci on Friday and Saturday.
There's another event of interest in my region this coming weekend, the Kentucky Deer and Turkey Expo in Louisville. MY buddy Byron Ferguson will be doing 4 exhibitions.
I don't know if my work schedule will allow it or not. I doubt I can make a dinner but could probably come up during the day. Is there stuff to do during the day or is it mainly about the banquet?
Brad:
There will be seminars throught the day, I believe I posted them on page 1; vendors; photo/bow/arrow contests; raffles; silent auctions; "chewage-of-fat"; etc.
Tippit is flying in and is trying to come with a carry on bag only. Can't have the TSA guys getting their hands on his donation for the Pack Of Dreams, so he sent it to me to bring along. I hope I remember to pack it. ;)

Another great looker Bill! You sure have a talent! Thanks for all the donations!
Thank you all! Lets hope it does some good for the PBS.
Thanks, Bill. I'm not sure its talent. As you know good wood and the proper tools go a long way.
Folks are trickling in, they'll start pouring in today. Have seen many of the above posters already.
But, it's still not too late to join us!
More than the stunning stuff offered and all the lotteries,I miss the great guys there.
Have fun you lucky dogs thtat attend!
I'll find out if another PBS brother is able to get tomorrow off, and can carpool down with us.
Looking forward to my 1st banquet.
My brother should roll in any minute and we will leave my place bright and early tomorrow. About 220 miles later we will be there.
D.P.
Jeanne and I arrived at Bill's yesterday and got to look at that bow. It is a looker and Bill did a whale of a job building it. I will definitely be in the bidding!
I'm here now with Terry Receveur and Tom Phillips. I couldn't have picked two better men to drive out here with. The conversation was great and kind of put me at ease. I'm a little intimidated so far. I recognized a lot of attendees, and do you know what???? Many recognized ME! I'm still a little. intimidated.
I'm on my way to Cinci this morning.
I've climbed Alaskan mountains for sheep and goats but I don't ever recall being as EXHAUSTED as I am now after these past several days.
Lol sounds like a GREAT TIME wish I didn't miss it !
Terry Receveur, Tom Phillips and I just got in after a 11+ hour drive. I had a blast!!!
The memories of my first will last forever. I'm already making plans to attend the next one in Florida. Everyone on here should plan to attend the next banquet.
Hey Mike, It was great meeting you. Love your arrows!!
Mike Vines....How did your fair in the arrow competition? Would expect you to have excelled since having had the honor to see pics of them afore hand.
A great weekend spent with awesome people! I too am tired from so much fun... Will see everyone again in St. Augustine 2016...!
I wish I could have made it. Things just didn't work out this time. I wish I could have seen friends and met new ones. There's always the next one.
